Latest issue of Chargin Thunder......

our little club got an honourable mention is the SCCOA's national newsletter!!!!

Mr Evanoff mentioned the SCCONW ( now SCCOWC) in the latest issue of Chargin Thunder. He complimented the club, mentioned the newsletter and urged anyone in the area who is not already a member to call me and become one!!

:) :) :)

Thanks, Bill!

Re: right on

Eh? (!) Anway, keep up the good work & effort!
Peace, virgil

Re: right on

I just got my CT yesterday and noticed that as I was reading through it. I think you all make a HUGE impression on the rest of the club, not only because of the number of posts you generate but because of the speed inwhich the club has grown in the past two years. Great job to Brad and all of you who make the club a success! I look forward to getting to at least one meet again this year.

Thanks...

Coug Symbol Greater Use due to own Uniqueness!

Brock:
Thanks for your kind words about our board site...!

Since you've got an awesome XR7, may I suggest
one minor mod which I did on mine, obviously
subject to your taste interest or not:
I had the circular Coug symbol placed on the hood ! To me it looks awesome!
Others too, to my surprise, have given unsolicited
positive commentary....
Anyway, since I don't as yet find anyone else
that's done it (thought of it?), and yours is so
spiffed up, thought you might add this last
"unique" touch! Oh yeah, who really loved it, was
my local Ford sales dept! The service guys said
nothing. But the sales guys flipped! Peace, virgil

PS: Due to hood curviture, you can't place it close
to the front lip: It requires moving up the lid to
just where the sheet metal starts to plateau out,
that's where mine is... At first I thought it would
look strange, wrong, or whatever, but once on
and getting used to seing it there, I realized that
in fact that was the more appropriate place for it!

Too many cars that do that kind of thing, do place
theirs way to close to the front lip, thereby
de-emphasizing its very presence, and almost
create an absence...(!)
Attained as a byproduct, is that the Coug symbol nestles well just above the bra whenever I put it on and really is accented thereby, etc. Peace, virgil

Re: Coug Symbol Greater Use due to own Uniqueness!

Thanks for the pics Virgil. They were very nice.

Re: Coug Symbol Greater Use due to own Uniqueness!

Virgil... I can't quite picture how good it may look. Do you have any pics of the one you did? I would be curious to see how it looks. Hopefully before summer is out I will have a new cowl induction hood taking the place of the stock one so we will see.

Thanks for the comments and the suggestion.

brock when did you lower that car? it wasnt like that when you were up last time was it? looks nice. how much is it lowered?

Re: Coug Symbol Greater Use due to own Uniqueness!

Its called photo shop Nick

Re: Coug Symbol Greater Use due to own Uniqueness!

Hey, Brock, I'll try to get a picture of it, as well as
of the tail end which I letter-customized for
equality of the "XR7" presence: Made the lettering
the same on either side of the license plate....to
attain symmetry, and dumped the irrelevant
"Mercury" lettering...lol!
However, it is a '93, having for my taste, the best
lens back there for that....lol!

Meantime, back to the front: Note the massive
flatness pervading the boring Coug hood, casually
speaking? Well, plunk "some" object about 1/3 of
the way up the center, and voila ! You alter the
chemistry of the look!

What I did is, buy the round Coug symbol with
the Cougar's nose FACING, in the same direction
as the grill emblem, drilled 3 holes at the beginning
flat plane of the hood, and screwed it in place:
Very simple to do! Just don't do it before the flat
plane starts our you won't be able to get a flush
base placement...lol!

In your current application, it would nestle about
1 inch ABOVE where the top of your bra ends, and
be dead centre: To me it would add more hood
motion, action on the eyes, and be like that done
on expensive cars: Impute a different meaning to
the car...(lol!)

I bought up a bunch of new Coug symbols POINTING
in both directions so that my future is insured...lol!
Since it's the same one as used on either side of
the upper rear quarter panels.... (Mine were
ripped off shortly after spiffing the car up: It drew
too much attention I guess? So, I had alarm radar
installed for proximity warning. No prob since...)

Anyway, you've got a hot car there: Keep it going!
Peace, virgil

Re: Coug Symbol Greater Use due to own Uniqueness!

Yeah Nick, it is the good 'ol easy photoshop suspension but with the figuring I did it is equivelant to a 4.5" drop. I am waiting to do anything to the suspension until I decide if I want to keep the stock rims or make the jump to a 17" rim and larger rotors. If I can't decide by summers end I may just do an 1" drop so that I can feel like I have actually gotten something accomplished!

Just to use as a guide, here is the original image:
