    AOD to AOD-E

    Hey everybody,
I have a 92 SC with the AOD tranny, and *surprise* it burned the OD band out. Anyways, I was wondering if it is at all possible to upgrade my tranny to an AOD-E and if this would even be a good idea at all. Would I need a new computer to control the tranny? Should I just rebuild my AOD, beef it up, and get the AOD-E overdrive band instead? As always, all comments and suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks,
    Steve

The stand-alone tranny controllers don't work too well in an SC. A couple of people around here have tried it and ended up with burnt trannies and flat wallets. A search on "4R70W" and "controller" will probably turn up the relevant posts.

Upgrade the AOD with 4R70W parts and a Lentech valve body, which is actually the most important upgrade. Also been discussed around here plenty.
