Designed for the 1989 to 1995 Thunderbird Super Coupe and Cougar XR7, this Supercharger Inlet Plenum adds power throughout the RPM range. Hundreds of hours were required to develop and test this plenum resulting in significant power gains from 3000 RPM to 5600 RPM where an additional 40 horsepower is gained over a ported stock plenum coupled to a larger then stock 70 mm throttle body.

Even higher horsepower gains could be claimed if the Magnum Powers Plenum was compared to a stock plenum and throttle body. Using Magnum Powers Products, Coy Miller's Stage II, 232 cubic inch V6 makes 445 horsepower on pump gas! That is nearly 2 horsepower per cubic inch!

Many hours were required on the flow bench and "Blower Dyno" to develop its shape for maximum performance. During development it was discovered this blower likes a very large intake cross section, which is why this 85mm plenum was developed. There is no way to port a stock plenum to flow as much air as the Magnum Powers Plenum. Magnum Powers plenum and throttle body are used on Coy Miller's record setting SC.

The 85mm inlet can accept any throttle body from stock up to the Magnum Powers 85MM Throttle Body, the largest available anywhere.

Roots type blowers require low inlet restriction which is why this plenum has such a large cross-sectional area throughout its entire length not just at the ends. Hundreds of hours were spent on the flow bench and "Blower Dyno" to ensure every turn was just right for maximum air flow. That Eaton Blower can get every cubic inch it can take when fed by Magnum Powers Intake Components. During development, a lot of things were tried, everything from cutting, welding, and grinding on a stock plenum to the construction and test of a 90mm prototype. Finally this 85mm design was selected as the best compromise, so you can see this shape did not come about by accident or science-fiction, it is the result of real science and a lot of hard work.

Yes, it has the port for an EGR to be connected. It has a block off plate covering the port at this time.
