once you go SC you can't go Camaro

Ok, well, I have had my SC since March of 04, and loved it that whole year. Blew the HGs 2 days before Christmas and garaged it. Drove my 93 Escort until in April of this year i found myself a 97 Z28 for a daily driver (yeah, it's kinda funny). Anyways, i like the Z28, but i must say i enjoy driving and playing with my SC a lot more than the Camaro. Sure the Camaro is a good go-fast car and stuff. Even the Camaro people i know think the SC is a much cooler car than the Camaro. This isn't to say I don't like the Z, but if I had to choose one to have, It'd DEFINANTLY be the Supercoupe.

Just thought I'd share that with everone, I haven't been on here for a while and figured it was time for me to say something again :p

The Z ran 14.985 @ 92.09mph on Wed, finally ran it with the ticking lifters and all. Not tooo bad for a car w/ 150,000 miles on it really. anyways, everyone have a good day!

14.9@92mph, seems like its down on power. If its 275-285 stock and supposed to run 14.3-14.5's probably around 95-96 mph I'd say you are probably down about 30-40 hp. Seems like an SC with gears, exhaust, pulley, should give it a run.

Is there anything else wrong with it besides lifters ticking?

Yeah, 150,000 miles :p lol. I'm going to do some maintenance on it and see how it fairs. Some new plugs and wires, etc. I might get a hotcam and some new lifters, just for a little addition. I want to fix this car (the Camaro) so I can eventually sell it and get a 6-speed, or if I ended up having to, a nice compact daily driver. But, for now I have the SC to fix up all the way, Camaro to fix. And then I'm good..... I think i've accomplished a lot for a 17 year old. Luckly I know lots of people that can help me out (like deals on tires :p) etc. I pay for my cars on my own! Makes you more proud to drive them, and even more proud when you stomp someone else's car their parents bought for them!

It really helps to have communities like this to share thoughts and get helpful (most of the time) information :p

No ls1 I assume? Don't know when they came out lol.
LT1, 97 wsa last year for the LT1. After the SC is done, I'll probably see how fast I can get the Camaro to go :p. It needs a rebuild before I try to get it to run too fast. I don't really think it would be worth it to put a cam in, and do everything to a block that's probably going to blow up with that kind of power right now. But, still fun to drive and smoke me some ricers!

Oh, yeah. When I was in high school, I bought my T-Bird from my parents for the price the dealer was going to give them in trade. (That's my Turbo Coupe; when I was in high school, Super Coupes were still new -- That's when I started wanting one. ;) ) I remember some of the kids in my high school thinking that their brand-new Jettas, Integras, or Grand Cherokees (that their parents bought them) were faster than my "old junker". I particularly liked the Grand Cherokee that figured it would follow me through a 120-degree turn at 35mph... In retrospect, he's lucky he just understeered straight into the opposite curb. :)
Nothing like the accomplishment of knowing that where you got on your own is as good or better than where somebody else got with help...
