Hey guys

We're going to try a different location this week for our meet, at the suggestion of our resident SCCoO PhotoChop master, John Zlupko. He has been here previously, and says the food, prices, and service are excellent.

It's "The Fan Sports Bar", 2448 Bloor St. W, near Jane. Map with address and phone number below:

So it's on our regular night, Wednesday, starting around 8:00 pm. There is parking in the nearby Green P lot, so you may have to pay a few bucks for parking, depending on how long you stay.

cheers

West End TO meet and greet.

I will vouch for this place. It is situated beside Old Mill pontiac-buick beside the old Odeon Humber Theatre. Parking is in the back, don't buy the parking tag until you go inside or until you see the Green P ticket guy. The upstairs area is Billy Bobs and lower area is The Fan- where we will be.

Wednesday is 2 for 1 New York steak night in case you want to bring your spouses. They have a ton of drafts, great food and great service. Be good tippers !!! and no, I am not getting a kickback.

Also, to the smoking addicts ( Borda, Wanger, Day, Vengusting etc ) "smoking is allowed in this bar" ....

This is not Jane and Finch - it is Jane and Bloor, no need to fear a driveby.

To get a preview of this locale look at the following website featuring a menu , a 360 degree look at the premises.

I'm not sure if they serve Mr. Varrik style umbrella drinks.

I don't think I'll be making this one, my back is still not co-operating with me. I'll see how this few days of the week go.

I just did a followup with "The Fan" ownership.

The steak deal is now buy 1 get 1 free NY steak.
They are going to give us complimentary pool time, ( billiards not the other kind Mr. V ) and take care of us.

You can park on certain parts of Jane or the adjoining street for free if available , otherwise it is P parking in the back for .75/half hour - $5 for the whole night or metered parking on Bloor st.

And lastly, Ryan buy yourself a magnetic pad and sleep on it for your back. (it helped me) This should fix you and remove the "starved for attention need for pity," that I always see from many on this site.

Now if we can only find a fix for the repeat non-committal, need a red carpet and personal invitation offenders " might" "sorry" "can't" and "Not sure."

Yes you will be sitting in smoke ( Les will be in smoke heaven- which the rest of us call Hell) the smoke does get cleaned up and vented but usually gets nasty after 10pm.

I DEFINITELY won't be able to attend this meet. Have a great time, guys!

Cheers,

Sean

 Well, If your decision to attend this meeting is based on thrift of a couple of dollars versus socialising with acquaintances who share the same automotive hobby and interest, then I will get a collection started for you to attend.

I am going to return some empties and will pledge $2 towards Mr. Varrik's parking cost. That will buy you about and hour and a half of time .

Would anyone else like to make a pledge ?

How about , would anyone like to make a pledge for Mr. V to stay away ?

Look at Matttt Coolhand, he always drives all the way from Bowmanville and he never bitches or complains about anything.

So far other unannounced attendees may include Peter Roy, W. Ing , Les ?, Steve D?

I hear the food and atmosphere at this place is great!!!

...Unfortunately, I have to take Noah to an exhibition game for rep hockey out in Port Dover. Afterwards I need to prep for a business trip starting tomorrow morning.

Have a wonderful time, guys! ...And hoist one or two for me, please.

Best regards,

Sean

Don't think I'll make it boys, entertaining father-in-law from B.C. 'till Friday.
Food is pretty good there, actually ate (& drank!!) there the other night.
For the smokers/non smokers situation, maybe consider the open air rooftop patio as an option? Steve

Sorry guys, I'm out at the last minute. John, please take charge in my absence !!! ;)

cheers

:D

Tell ya' what, guys, here's my "pledge"* - Mike, come out and i'll buy you one of your Elite-ist, infamous umbrella drinks! You'll save the $5 with that. ?

Same goes for ANY other 4.6ers that come out. I'll buy a round for the BIG boys. :p

Oh boy, John at the controls - this outta be interesting. I'm sure Ed will be hearing about this. Gotta remember to bring my digicam for blackmail shots. Oops, I mean "photo op's".

*pledge - thankfully, John has spared us with having to be continuously interrupted with commercials from our favourite Made for PC Movie "Thunderbirds" by simply inserting his pledge drive here. Hey, John, how much did you have to pay for advertising? :p
