    stock alternator

    what does a stock alt. put out at idle? and what rpm does it peak out at?

    14+V.

    Its rated at 110A which means about 1.5KW. That happens at a shaft speed of about 5000 RPM. That would mean it should produce peak power that I'd estimate around an engine speed of 2000 RPM. The only way to know for sure is to measure the pulley circumferences and do the math.

    lol i thought there was a simple way to figure out what kind of amps its at idle

    Well I changed my 91 5.0 lx 75 amp alt which had 12-17 amps at idle.
    So if that's true, then ours should have around 40 at idle.
    Right?
    Wrong?

    I am interested to know if there is a 200 amp re-wind/stator for our cars.
    Does anybody have anything like that?
