Just bought a SC!

Hey, just purchased a 95 SC, its not running the previous owner had head gasket problems and basicaly gave up on the car, Im planning on a freshen up on the short block and while the top end is off I was thinking of some port work on the heads, and intake... Before I do I would like to know if its worth the time spent with the portwork?

or should I just yank out the V-6 and drop a 5.0 in there?


will the factory 5-speed work with a 5.0? (other than a 302 bell housing)

I would fix the v-6. Thats a rare car if its a 5-speed 95. Only like 1700 or so were made with 5-speeds in that year.

correction... only 572 5-speeds were made in 95.

it all depends I did the 5.0 swap on my 94sc for various reasons. If you want a mild car then just keep the 3.8sc motor it will be a lot easier trust me. In my case I want to beat on the car and have fun and I didn't think that the sc motor would be up to the task and would break pretty quickly compared to the 5.0
