If you decide that you are going to go through with this, I'd suggest that you document everything as there may be others that wish to follow you. We could certainly use more literature on this swap.

MarksM is currently in this process as well. He's using the Ford 6speed (If I remember correctly) and might be able to fill you in on some newer details.

One day this is a DEFINATE swap for me. :)

Nope. GM spec T56 from a 2000 Camaro. It's input shaft is with 0.01 of the Fords and I'm hoping the Ford bell housing is a direct bolt-on. The reason for the GM spec is the shifter location. It is within 1.5" of where it needs to be.

If the Ford bell housing won't fit, they all use the same case. All that's needed is to swap the front cap, input shaft and bell housing to have a true bolt-on T56.
