Dyno Results - April 14th, 2007

More than a few of us received some WOT dyno tuning for our T-Birds today, thanks to Dave Dalke and the folks at DaSilva Racing in Scarborough. I thought I would start one thread for all those wishing to share their results.

My car was second on the rollers this morning (after Matt Leskiw) and after much heckling from Dave regarding the terrible under-use I'm putting that motor through that he built for me, I got what I feel are very respectable numbers, especially considering I'm still running an early style blower and plenum that has had nothing but some porting thanks to Ryan Harris.

In the end, Dave managed to get 290.34 RWHP at about 4,600 RPM, and 378.18 ft lbs RWTQ at about 3,100 RPM as my best results of the day.

Yes, Dave, I know I need way more blower, and bigger injectors, and a better IC, maybe some alcohol injection, and... The list just never seems to end. ;)

I've attached my dyno chart here. Once again, thanks Dave for all your hard work. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is very pleased with the results!

To show you some contrast, the attached chart shows two pulls. The lower numbers were actually the second pull that Dave made, but there was a problem with the dyno and so the actual first pull wasn't recorded. Those numbers are really with everything heat soaked, and without any special WOT tuning. The higher numbers were for the fifth pull, after a little cool-down time, and after Dave tweaked the file on the new SCT Chip. We didn't employ any icing down of the IC plumbing, IC, blower top, etc. Remember this is with a stock, single core IC. Obviously, Dave is able to squeeze an improvement out with tuning, given that the numbers rose about 16 HP and 15 ft lbs by the last pull.

I've got some movie clips of Matt's car, my car, Bruce's car, and Steve Pathay's car on the dyno. Does anyone have the ability to host these for us and post a link here for everyone? I can try to send them to whoever may be able to help with this.

I had a blast today, and it was really great to see everyone who was there!

Cheers,

Sean

Jamie,

The list of mods is too long for here. I have updated the list on my SCCoA Member's Page, and you can find the link for that in the header of each of my posts, near the left hand side.

The files are too large to email. I signed up for my own YouTube account, and I'm trying to upload the vid for one of my pulls now. If it works, I'll post a vid of one of Matt Leskiw's pulls, one of Bruce Burns' pulls, and one of Steve Pathay's pulls.

Thanks,

Sean

Yes, Thanks to Dave and DaSilvas (and those that co-ordinated this event).
I ran a 354/411 as a best. That's Gregs MPII and a stock pulley. Should be able to add a few more ponies when I get the MPX on therem and overdrive it more.
The car runs good now that Dave did his magic.
I have vids of my car on the dyno and will try and post it tommorrow. I also have a few other assorted pics from today and yesterday at Ed's that I'll get posted when I get a few minutes.
My car went through a bit today. First I hit the steel bollard at DaSilvas shop entrance leaving a nice wound on the side of the car and then I almost made it home before shreading the drive belt. CAA brought me home.

My car pretty much made 300RWHP~344RWTQ

The mods on the car are:

-larger MAF, TB & Injectors
-SCI Jackshaft
-AR KIt
-Snow Kit

This was also through a stock single IC.

Dave had the timing at 22* and mentioned once we get the boost down he can probably move that to 30*. That plus a better IC should net close to 350RWHP.

Not bad for a car thats never had the vavle covers off. I am more than pleased with the resluts of the AR kit and must thank Dave for an excellent job done on tuning the car.

WOW awesome numbers guys, great work Dave. Paul that car is a beast!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see what it does with the MPX and at the track, you need some slicks buddy.:D

Steve P.'s Car on Dyno

Here's a vid of one of Steve Pathay's pulls today. I can't believe how quickly that motor comes to life when you stomp on the go-fast pedal!!!

Steve P.'s 1995 Auto SC

Awesome numbers, Steve! Did you scan your dyno chart yet? I was thinking it would be cool to have as many of us post up the charts here as possible. Then people looking to aim for similar performance from their SC's can ask the right people the right questions.

Cheers,

Sean

I'm sorry guys. I just cam from work, it's after 4am. I downsized all images for faster uploading, unfortunately, have no time to work on each image, so they are what they are.
