More than a few of us received some WOT dyno tuning for our T-Birds today, thanks to Dave Dalke and the folks at DaSilva Racing in Scarborough. I thought I would start one thread for all those wishing to share their results.
My car was second on the rollers this morning (after Matt Leskiw) and after much heckling from Dave regarding the terrible under-use I'm putting that motor through that he built for me, I got what I feel are very respectable numbers, especially considering I'm still running an early style blower and plenum that has had nothing but some porting thanks to Ryan Harris.
In the end, Dave managed to get 290.34 RWHP at about 4,600 RPM, and 378.18 ft lbs RWTQ at about 3,100 RPM as my best results of the day.
Yes, Dave, I know I need way more blower, and bigger injectors, and a better IC, maybe some alcohol injection, and... The list just never seems to end.
I've attached my dyno chart here. Once again, thanks Dave for all your hard work. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is very pleased with the results!
To show you some contrast, the attached chart shows two pulls. The lower numbers were actually the second pull that Dave made, but there was a problem with the dyno and so the actual first pull wasn't recorded. Those numbers are really with everything heat soaked, and without any special WOT tuning. The higher numbers were for the fifth pull, after a little cool-down time, and after Dave tweaked the file on the new SCT Chip. We didn't employ any icing down of the IC plumbing, IC, blower top, etc. Remember this is with a stock, single core IC. Obviously, Dave is able to squeeze an improvement out with tuning, given that the numbers rose about 16 HP and 15 ft lbs by the last pull.
I've got some movie clips of Matt's car, my car, Bruce's car, and Steve Pathay's car on the dyno. Does anyone have the ability to host these for us and post a link here for everyone? I can try to send them to whoever may be able to help with this.
I had a blast today, and it was really great to see everyone who was there!
Cheers,
Sean
