    pinging bad

    the coupe is a pinger not sure why!! idles @ around 20 psi I have done a leak test cant find any vac leaks. new plugs Double plat, new wires, run only super gasoline, get max boost of 8-9, new belts, SC makes no un healthy noises Im baffled what gives? any suggestions?

    maybe try a can a fuel injector and systme cleaner ?

    seafoam worked great for me.

    When did you last change your fuel filter ?. I had that problem on just my '93 5 speed (my '90 5 speed and '94 auto were no problem) and had to change the filter every 15k instead of 30k - strange but it worked, just very sensitive to fuel pressure. You might also make sure your knock sensor is connected, although I would think you'd get a CEL.

    Could also be clogged cats. If you rap them with a rubber mallet and you can hear loose chunks inside, then they are bad.

    An interesting test would be to pull the Octane plug and see if you still get pinging. (Octane plug is located at passenger side firewall)
