Good news the machine shop was happy to inform me that there is no significant ware on either the cylinders or the crank I only have to replace one rod(badly scored from the bearing that turned). So i have started to research the limits of maxing out the head flow: cam, rockers and larger intake and exaust valves. If any of you guys have any suggetions or experiences I would greatly appreciate your input/advise.

i've heard that the stock exhaust is super restrictive and if you replace it it will boost the horse but you will lose some torque

Who is doing the work
The best heads available for our cars are the Steigmieir heads from Apten.
http://www.apten-us.com/scheads/38heads.html Dr. Fred also offers a budget cam and head package that runs really well. http://www.zianet.com/sccosw/DrFred If it is just a local guy decent results can be acheived, the short turn radius on the exhaust port being one sport in particular that a lot of gain can be realized.
