threw some calipers on my blower pulley yesterday..2.817.. so i guess that would be a 10% pulley afterall. but it's too big! haha

anybody know of any SC pullies that are more than a 10% overdrive?>
racer walsh maybe (however when i talked to them they said they didn't know the percentage overdrive).

racer walsh says a 5psi increase over stock with their pulley.
what psi increase do you guys see with a 10% pulley typically? is it that much?

thanks for the help guys. i'm porting the inlet and outlets in hopes that might help.

If you cant convert to a jackshaft type setup and are experiencing slippage now. I'd reccomend getting a custom larger crank pully made. That will give you more boost and less slippage then going with a smaller blower pulley

Damon is correct. If yo post where you measured on your pully I have an 89 pully here and a 93 pully here. The 93 is on a car but if the 89 is smaller I will send er to ya. I ask where you measured because I need to know if you measured in the belt grooves or on the outside.

i measured the inside. where the belt grooves are.

i've eliminated the belt slippage, and i don't thing that decreasing to something like a 2.7 or 2.6x blower pulley would create a problem.

if i can find one made then i'll buy it, but if not i'll more than likely look at taking the one i have and bringing it down on the lathe and i'll buy a cutter to make the v grooves.

that sounds like the best idea to me, at least the cheapest. if you buy or make a larger crank pulley, then you will also need underdrive pulleys for your accesories, otherwise the larger crank pulley will over drive your alternator etc. im just going off of common sense here, people spend money to underdrive their accesories, so i definitely wouldnt want to overdrive them.
theres my .02

yeah, the motor is out right now for trans and clutch work, but it should be back in the bug in a week or two. I had it running for a little bit, but it smoked the crap out of the clutch. then i decided to do a bunch of other stuff while i had it all apart, its been a long project, but fun. i really cant wait to see what it will do once i get it back together. i'll post pics when its together.

yeah, it started as a $600-1 month motor swap. the stock motor sucked and it runs at least 2 grand to build a good vw motor. but, im gonna end up being about 2500 down (all on an afterschool job). and i started like last august... but, i figure its been fun, and the end result should really kick a**..
