Actually too long, dealer used a washer to fill the length. Problem was discovered when I thought I lost the fluid from my p/s pump and took it to a new mechanic who specializes in older Fords. He's the guy who pointed out the real problem. Althuogh the dealer might have damaged the o-ring, it still doesn't cover the issue of the ball being much smaller than what a SuperCoupe needs. I first started trying to find another source 'cause the Ford part was on long backorder besides the $$$. SIA was the only one I could find, Prior Reman actually gave me the reference.
In fairness to SIA I just tried to contact them again today and got a live person on the phone who told me to go ahead and send it in for evaluation for a claim. Also when I first ordered it they were late getting it out so they sent another one on 2nd day air at no charge, not even for the part. Gotta admit that was great service at that point. I DID send the first one back when it finally came through, so hopefully they'll see me as a responsible customer.
BY the way I was able to diagnose the problem thanks to all the threads here. If you're getting both lights and stiff pedal you ABSOLUTELY need the accumulator. The pump runs excessively 'cause the ball's losing pressure. Get it replaced before your pump burns out. The weird problem I had with the SIA accumulator was that the pump didn't seem to want to be activated by the new pressure switch. KOEO worked fine but it would just lose pressure while driving. Had new relay too. After Ford ball was installed sysem works perfectly.

Ok so I ordered the Accumulator from Spinning Wheels-SC. Where would I get a relay and pressure switch? Autozone didn't have either.
