new clutch question
Hi all,
Just had new clutch and slave put in my '89 XR7. I'm about 95% sure there is air in the system but would like to hear from you guys. Clutch is a Spec1 with slave from SCP. Out of the garage it felt fine, couple rides later it had play at the top end and clutch was engaging pretty much at the floor and getting worse ( of course this happened on a hill in traffic due to construction, lotsa fun getting turned around to get home). Got home and let it sit while I cursed and checked these forums. I just went out and pumped the peddle 20-30 times and it feels good again (didn't drive it) engages around 1/2-2/3 travel. Will be away till Sunday so before I bleed it, any thoughts/input/advice would be appreciated. BTW Ryan if you read this your springs and shocks are installed, thanks alot, looks better, rides better (imo) and steers better ![]() |

When I did my clutch I had to pump it up to build pressure then crack the bleeder and I did that about 10-15 times then let it sit for about an hour and went back to feel it, I think I still need to bleed it tho due to wear in the pedal cause of the stage 2 clutch. But that issue has since been solved.
