I don't know what I will do when the neon gets sold. I am almost certain the speed bug will set in and Ill start to throw money at. Something I don't want to do.

Heck I can go back to turboing the 94 and put the 94 powertrain in the anny.

If i was only rich. This car is supposed to be my down grade so I can afford my new home. But i am sure the M112 will make its way into it some day.

I think Dave knows that if I fix it he will have more business comming his way. So your opinion Dave is a little bias isnt it JK

As long as you are coming to me for upgrades and not fixing broken stuff. I look at it this way, the 94 is all hotted out which is cool, but having a car that is nearly stock and which you have to mod slowly due to time and money is fun too. I have almost as much fun with my stockish cars as I do with the hot rods. Besides, teaches you patience.

I can totally agree with Dave. I don't have a huge budget for my car so everything is one step at a time when funds allow instead of dumping a tank load of money initially. Its fun, especially when you take the time and measure what each item gets you. Also, if you get everything done initially, then the car becomes boring because, well, there's nothing left for you to work at .

Pick a goal where you want the car to be... and don't change your mind till your there.

Well no one bought the car so its up to me to save this Bird with the broken wings.

I spent sometime this week and last weekend tearing the donor car out. I pulled the needed parts from it for the Anniversary. I took off all of trim and parts that the shop might break during deconstruction. GFX, emblem, inner door panel, Mirror, trim, corner lamps, fog Lights, mouldings.
Car runs so smooth I forgot what it was like to have a stock car.

Anyways car is at the shop getting it wings fixed. Ill take it back and put the parts myself after they paint the individual pieces. I think it will look good in the end. I have to find a set of pinstripes Cough Cough, Shane wanna sell
those cheap?

Anyways its out of my moms driveway and thats all that matters as she was getting in trouble for having an unregistered car there. The longer the shop takes the better so I can start saving pennies but I think it will be ready before winter.

The SVO hood looks slick on it And it will be the only car that I have seen with a 94-95 Buper that has corner lamps.

Future plans are a bolt pattern conversion and some slick wheels.
Oh and i gotta pull the 5 speed out of the donor car too. Ill drive it Auto for a little bit till I get some more cash for it so I can do syncros and clutch and stuff.

The nightmares start all over

I went by the shop and looks like they already have the radiator support all fixed up looks good, Bumper reinforcement is done too. Door dent is non existent they did a great job popping it out without any damage almost no bondo will be needed. The donated fender from Jay, was in place and they are just fitting the parts before shooting it with some paint. Everything looks good and not hacked up and that was my fear in the beggining. So we will see.

Oh and something hilarious, the wife wants me to keep the car Automatic, so she can drive it. Looks like the SC but is getting her too she wants to drive it. No now comes the dilema. Should I keep it auto. I would likely drive it less. So I dont know.

And down the street from the shop there is another anniversary in someones drive way all stock. It has been sitting for some time. I stopped in to check it out and see if the folks in the house want to sell it. Well looks like the house is vacant and all the boxes are piled up on the front porch. I think the folks died and the kins are taking care of things. The anniversay is a 5spd it has no sunroof. The house has no number and I dont know if they still check their mail. I know what street its on but no number on the house, I cannot mail a letter. And I never have a pen and paper when I drive by that area. I know they will probably junk the car or donate it if they empty the house and attempt to sell it. So I dont know who to contact for it.

Ive talked to Jay about it but not sure if he is interested in it. Its a nice car only the lower cushion suade and the bolster on the driver side needs fixing. I am not sure on the condition of the motor. I assume if its a 5spd the trans will be fine if not a set of syncros will get it going. It all looks good, except for the front winshield as it has a crack on it. What should I do? I am not in a financial position to pick this car up but id like to get in touch with the owners before it rots to hell or ends up at the junk yard.

I could be interested in it, as long as it's not a rot pile and if there was a definate way to get in touch with the owners.

Mike has some info regarding that other car (93 black, sunroof), but I've been told it's in the process of being parted out. It would be nice to compare the condition of the two and make a decision from there.

Glad to hear you're at least bringing back one SC from the dead. Did you end up painting the entire car? If it still have that parts car, I may need to snag two parts from it before it goes to the crusher.

Its def not a rot pile. But the tires are flat and Im unable to verify under the rockers. The car is nice under all the three leafs lol. And i am picky

Im just painting the needed parts and hope they blend with the old parts, my anny has pretty decent paint and a clean and buff should make things look good. I just need to figure out the blue stripe thing. Maybe some car tatto artist and have him permanently paint the stripes.

When ever you want to take a knife at the parts I still have it. I have a fake plate on it so we have not been bothered by the town.

Oh crap I am in trouble, the shop made the call to paint the whole car, my guy said it was going to look terrible if I only painted one side. I gotta pull a few more nights at chippendales.

So a new dilema comes about, should I reuse the factory side mouldings or should I leave it off? I will be using the blue pinstrip kit, so that should break up the big door as some of you point out. I dont have a moulding in the front bumper and the rear bumper will have its trim line painted gloss black too. So should I reuse the flat black mouldings?

I'm leaning towards no moulding...........

start cashing in your bottles and cans.....

I'd say leave the moldings off now, and decide later, you can always toss them back on, or have them painted gloss black to match the body later. My car had them painted gloss black, which I perfered over the flat style.

I think it's cool that they are painting the entire thing. It would have never looked perfect if only a few parts were done. I don't think 20year old paint could ever be matched correctly with a fresh coat. At a minimum, they would have to clear the whole car, at least now they are fixing all the other areas too.

Too bad they didn't pull off the ground effects and window trim, but I think if it's taped off good, it'll come out nice.

I think Ill be ok without too much pulling of course it would be better to but that takes time and he knows this is not a masterpiece car. They paint really good so I hope its all good. If I had known I would have pulled the pieces myself and taken my time like I did on the other side, but too late now. If I have them pull the stuff I will end up with broken clips and retainers and plastics. They probably dont know the car that well anymore since they likely have not fixed one up retail for a while.

I think you should consider keeping the yellow stripes.
