5.0 Coyote Swap Project Thread

2013 Mustang Coyote with 26K with Ford Racing controller pack, JLT CAI. I ready have a built-up 4r70w with a circle D TC. U shift Trans controller kit. Alternator and power steering bracket kits. Keeping the IRS with 4.10 gears. The hard part is switching the Coyote flange on a pair of MN12 kooks headers. Brand new AJE tubular k member with the coyote mounts. Dyno tune sometime next year.

Pretty cool Josh! Do you think you will have it ready for the Car Craft Nationals in July, it's going to be at the State Fair Park again this year.
 
Now the AJE k member can you use the factory spindles, struts, rack and pinion, and upper control arms?

Thanks Scott! I didn't get to go this year because of military training, but yea I should have it done by July for sure.

Yes everything you listed, also the sway bar.
 
If I may make a request: at some point, take a pic without that plastic engine cover. I don't think I've seen a pic of a Coyote without that.

I was able to drop the stock K member today and do a test fit and she fits. There have been a few guys wondering about fitment issues. There was none. The only thing that will not fit is the stock oil pan. I will need to buy a Canton low profile that is used in the Factory Five Cobras. If my measurements are correct it will fit perfectly. I was also able to weigh both K members and get a difference between the them, the mounts, arms and bolts. The difference is almost 30 pounds.

motor mounts?

What kind of motor mounts r those on the stock K-member? For the 5.0 or an aftermarket for the orig. 3.8? Never seen any like that b4

Are the new AJE k-member/control arms any better than the old ones? I'd love to save the weight, but I seem to recall a lot of people saying they were really drag race-only parts.
 
Will you please do me a favor? Will you measure the width and length of the K member? I suppose I could do it while it's mounted in the car but if you're willing to do it while it's out that would be MOST helpful.
