white 93 aod south florida

I bought this white 93 aod from a member on here a few weeks ago. Its a pretty cool car, it was my first REAL sc but it didn't live up to the hype for me. Now that I realize how heavy and sluggish these cars are first hand, I like my cougar better.

It is a minnesota car, the 1/4 panels have some rust. Its white with black interior. non-moon roof.

Since you guys know a good amount about tbirds i'll get a little more in depth about the description.

*new oil pump as of 4 days ago. (stock one of was fluctuating from 30-70psi rapidly but smoothed out to 65psi on anything above 1500rpm. now has a cold oil psi of 70 and a hot oil psi of 40-45. Inspected the oil cooler while the pump was off, and its not rusted like most are.

*new drivers side window motor. nothing special to note here, just standard replacement. works fine now.

*new elec. shocks. (I personally didn't replace them, but the guy I bought it from did) they look brand new when I had the car on the lift.

*front end bushings are non-existent lol. I don't know why the guy before me never replaced them, but I haven't gotten around to replacing them yet.

*I have new motor mounts, but have yet to install them. the stock ones are gone.

*aftermarket cd player with new speakers all around.

*the a/c cluster works fine, nothing wrong there at all. Has hot heat, but has a refrigerant leak that I don't plan to fix since I'm planning on selling this car soon. so It doesn't have cold a/c. Not sure where the leak is, haven't checked that yet.

*when I bought the car I didn't realize how bad the brakes were. I mean, the car stops quick. But all 4 rotors are warped which gives a big vibration when braking, and also the pads in all 4 corners are worn down to nothing as well.

I'll probably replace all the pads and rotors this week, no big deal.

* I upgraded the stock 93 m90 to the 94/95 style m90 with 7% OD. The stock boost gauge shows 12 psi. along with upgrading the m90, I replaced the supercharger belt with a shorter one, along with a shorter jackshaft belt. There used to be a huge amount of belt slip with the stock belts, you could literally smell rubber burning when flooring it, and there was rubber powder underneath the hood. I'll throw in the stock m90 with plenum with this car. I'll have no need for it since I've got an mpx on my cougar.

* the drivers side door hinge is causing the door to hang. I'm sure you all are familiar with this. my cougar does the same thing. also, the drivers side door sucks. I want to replace it, there is a guy on here selling black leather doors for 75 bucks, but I dunno if i'll get a set of door panels.

*the odometer doesn't work, not sure how many 'actual' miles are on the car, but it runs fine and has good oil pressure. the odometer stopped at 126k

I've tried to list everything the best I can, but I'm sure I missed something. Sorry for writing an essay, but It was necessary. I'm in PBG florida, 33410. Let me know if you need more info, or pics. thanks for listening!

Yes this is the car with the black tweed/leather interior. I got it from a guy down in Ft. Lauderdale. I'm asking 1,000 as it sits. I got it for 600, but he was in a bind and HAD to have it gone. I have spent 300 on this car already, and there are other guys asking a lot more for cars in similar condition.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to do a 4 wheel brake job. cut the rotors and replace the pads. depending on how warped the rotors are, I might replace them. after that, I'm going to replace all of the bushings, but that wont be for a few more days. depending on how it rides and feels after I do those 2 things, I might keep the car, I might not. I'm not sure.

I took the car on a 100 mile trip yesterday. Nothing went wrong. It still has a vibration above 80 mph. 90mph gets to be a bit too much vibration. 100mph forget about it. It could be a lot of things, the driveshaft looks like ~~~~, the tires need to be replaced. bushings, motor mounts etc..

Once I do the brakes, I'll feel comfortable selling the car. I'll post some more info as I go along.

Just went ahead and replaced the pads and rotors today, new pads and rotors on the front, just new pads on the rear and I cut the rotors. 1100 bucks for the car now. Tomorrow I'll replace the motor mounts. The price of the car wont go up any for the mounts considering I got them free when I bought the car. The only things left to make this a good stable car are the bushings. I can take pictures of the car if you want, or you can go click back maybe a page or so to find this car's thread. I'll post up the link in a minute

just replaced the front and rear sway bar links along with the front sway bar bushings. that helped a lot with the vibration and the 'clunk' that I'd hear going over bumps. the car doesn't vibrate til about 90 now and its much less than before. The breaks feel a lot better than they were. the car actually stops now lol.

I still gotta replace the motor mounts still.

I was going to make this into a drag car but it just needs too much tlc to the chassis. I need to go to the junk yard and find a bird that isn't rusted and pull basically the whole rear end cradle out of it. If someone wants the car I'll sell it to them, if not that's cool too.

I've been on vacation from work. I still haven't gotten any pics of the car yet. Its almost 7pm right now so its too late to get any good pics. I have to check the oil pressure again with a mechanical gauge, the stock oil gauge has the needle on the "N" of NORM.. I'll stop by harbor freight and pick a mechanical gauge up cause I don't feel like driving 30 miles to get back to my shop. It should be good, between 40-70psi, but I gotta double check. I'll keep you guys posted. so far there has been NO interest in the car.. Its really not that bad of a car. so far i've driven it 250 miles in 3 days no problems. I'll continue to drive it 70 miles per day because I can't stand being here in hobe sound/pt. st. lucie.

oil pressure is fine, 70psi cold. the oil pressure sender was sticking which caused the gauge to read low. took it to the track, ran 16.14.. slow...
