How does it compare to a properly functioning stock unit?

Never used a stock unit on an SC so I can't help you with a comparasion.

But these shifters are anodized billet al and steel shifter. It's good ($$$) materials in the build, so you get for what you pay for.

I did a tranny swap, and ended up with 2 of them, that is why I am selling.

From my experience with the stock shifter and my B&M this is what I can say. The B&M does produce a shorter more firm shift and its allot sturdier than the stock shifter. I have been relentless beating on mine since I've had it and it has yet to let me down. The only drawbacks to it are that it makes the shifter slightly taller than stock and the can be sprung tight for some people, but you can get used to that. What I did to fix the height issue was to use a billet shifter handle and leather knob for the 94-04 Mustang. That lowered back down around where it was from the factory and brought the shifter back to a more comfortable position.
