Wont idle when cold

My 89' 5speed will not idle when its cold. The problem was all of a sudden, it used to run fine.. I had a buddy come over to look at it with me and we played around with it for about 30 minutes and only then would it smooth out and stay idling because it had warmed up..I would think a vac leak but it idles nicely once its running...On cold start, the car starts, and rpms drop down fast and it dies almost immediately .... Any ideas ?

..has new plugs, wires, fuel pump and fuel filter..

Injectors plugged/gummed up? Fuel pressure good? How does it drive once warmed up, will it take throttle or does it feel like its runnin out of fuel?

it feels fine once its warmed up.. Takes WOT with no feeling of it holding back..if i give it a little bit of gas it will stay running, and once i let off it will die...I just picked this car up, but befor i got i, it had been sitting for a few years with a bad fuel pump...Also, with MAF unplugged the car idled decently, but that may just becasue it raised the idle up.. ?

I will throw some injector cleaner in there, couldnt hurt..

Clean your MAF.

Then look for vacuum leaks. Adaptive will correct for a vacuum leak but it can't do anything when the car is open loop.

Have you put fresh fuel in, or are you still running with the old fuel in the tank....

the tank was empty when I dropped it for the pump. It now has fresh fuel in it..it had run very low/out after the initial few gals i put in from moving it in and outa the garage for a while playing with the other cars...Idk if running it low had anything to do with this but its a fresh filter and I cant see how the car running better warm would have to do with a filter. But im open to anything at this point.

the IC tubes are sealed with teflon gaskets and when its running right, the vac is right where it should be....

Get some carb cleaner and spray all the IC tube connections and any other part of the intake system after the TB while it's idling. You will hear the motor rev up when it sucks in the carb cleaner. Doesn't take much of a leak to make it run bad. Gauge can still be showing 20 inches of vacuum with a leak so big you can't keep the motor running, so don't let that fool you.
