So when they are referring the horse power at 300 BHP for the 4.6L... What does the "B" stand for? "BLOCK"(?)

Note that it has 3 valves per cylinder. so the heads are different than the current 4.6 heads.
I wonder if the DOHC version will have 5 valves this time around?

I don't know about you guys but I'm really excited about this new stang. First off, for those of you who havn't been following the development of the new mustang they went with a solid axle to cut costs on the standard v6 and gt models. This is good for drag racing and street racing as long as its in a straight line so who cares. IRS will return to the mustang in 2006 on the SVT Cobra. By the way, SVT is done producing vehicles after 2004 and will return with a new lightning and cobra in 2006. Focus will be cut from the SVT name plate. The GT will have 300 hp which will most likely be underestimated after the trouble ford got into with the 99 cobra. +40 hp improvement is awesome in my book as well as the 3v heads. The lincoln LS v8 has 3v heads and so does the f150 and substatanial torque gains have been shown in both. Interior looks a hell of a lot better than the current stangs and they got rid of the stupid fake scoops.

For more information visit http://www.stangnet.com/2005fordmustang/index.html

Also check out their forums for the 2005 mustang. It's gonna be badass and since the stupid bowtie boys have no performance car within an affordable price range like the mustang, FORD is gonna tear some **** up. At least until the new F-body's come out but that won't be at least until 2007. 2 thumbs up to Ford for giving the blue collar worker a performance vehicle within his reach. I mean even the v6 which is slated to start under 20k is gonna have 200 hp and 235lb torque. Not to mention the v8 is all aluminum.

BHP stands for Brake Horsepower. Meaning wheel horsepower not crankshaft power.

Thumbs up

The GT looks really, really good!....Except for the mufflers showing! Makes it look cheap, like a lumina or something. Other than that, and the fact that I dont see a 6spd either , This is an awesome car!

P.s.
The v6 looks so-so....

Jeff,

You should know what the "B" stands for. Ford is now using the patented "Butt-Dyno" in rating the horsepower. As you know, I was the one who came up with this awesome way of knowing how much horsepower you had. It is a little rough on your butt cheek but you can really feel the horsepower (If you get what I mean).

Hmmm their original goal was 400bhp now its down to 300 . I dont like the gt model looks like a rally car with those fog lights in the middle of the grill I'd hafta get the v-6 model and drop the v-8 in that.
