Well Damn Mark, I didn't know that. We should meet up for a show next time they play here. They play the Machine Shop in Flint a couple of times a year. I missed the last couple of shows because my wife won't go with me because she doesn't like that place. The last time we went she got really pissed because two girls sat down by us and started making out.

Anybody ever heard of The String Cheese Incident?

I went to a concert in Colorado, but don't really remember much other than looking for my Wife and there where a lot of Hippies. Oh ya, Then the next morning the Sheriff showed up and were escorted from the hotel. Seems there was about 25 people in the other room, and their dog took a dump on the floor.

Things I learned:

Never let a guy you don't know well pay you cash for a hotel room, so you will put it on your credit card.

Don't eat chocolate that looks like it was made in an ice cube tray

It was a wild night for sure. I think.

Jeff

Just kidding.
Sammy was better solo, IMO. VH with him was still really good, but it doesn't compare to Red, Bad Motor Scooter, Heavy Metal, Can't Drive 55...just wasn't really his style.

Yea Andy, sounds good. I, unlike your wife, would be quite intrigued at two girls making out! I was thinking of going to the other shows too, but always had something going on with work.

Exactly. Sammy could still make good music solo. What does that tell you? Diamond Dave on the othe hand, still had to get talented showpiece musicians to back him up, like Steve Vai for example.

Led Zeppelin is tired. "Hey lady, you've got the love I need......" If I have to hear that song one more time........ Man I get tired of hearing the same ol Zeppelin songs on the radio. And then there's Pink Floyd, one of THE most sleep inducing bands ever. Dire Straits-good, Skynerd-they're a given, and most of the other bands listed by everyone are good or great. Zeppelin and Floyd though, ugh. I respect their music, I can't stand it, but I respect it.

I also listen to Ratt, Tesla, The Cars, Sacred Reich, Flotsam & Jetsam, R.E.M., Matchbox 20, Dwight Yoakam, and all kinds of country. I just love music period. All kinds.

Im kinda screwed up... I like good metal as well, Rage, Audioslave, Mudvayne, Breaking Benjemen, etc. I also like country, Conway, Stright, Alan, ohhh yeah the good ones.

Best CD I have lately is The Very Best Of by The Eagles.

An opinion from an "old guy"...

It's hard to argue with Pink Floyd, they are/were in a class by themselves... But, for me, there is nothing that compares to the Allman Brothers Band in the early years. Duane Allman compiled an incredible catalogue as a studio musician, and as the driving force behind the ABB, before his fatal motorcycle accident in 1971 (just short of his 25th birthday). Eric Clapton was so impressed with Duane's mastery of slide guitar that the entire "Derick and the Dominos" album was re-recorded after Duane sat in on one song near the end of the session. "Live at Fillmore East" is probably the ultimate showcase for Duane's abilities. There are a lot of great guitarists out there, but there are very few that can use the instrument as a window to their soul like Duane did.
But, this is just the opinion of a guy that grew up in Macon, GA.......
