Back from vacation, here's a few photos.

I visited 3 national parks, Glacier, Teton Park, and Yellowstone and just had to share a few of the spectacular shots. I took 200 photos and could have easily taken more. The mountains, the streams, the waterfalls, and the forests, they are absolutely beautiful out there. Well, Yellowstone's a mess. The once mighty forest is now a forest of gray sticks 30 ft in the air with 4 ft saplings coming up under them, but it'll be back in a few years. I spent only 1 or 2 days at each park and will have to definitely go back and do it again. If you've been wondering where to take the family I highly recommend any these parks, whether you camp or stay in motels. I must have hiked 30 miles during the week to see sights that I'd never seen before. I could actually see the end of one of the rainbows but dang, somebody beat me to the pot gold. I didn't see any SC's, though and ended up driving a rented Hyundai Sonata, but hey it wasn't a bad little car other than being pathetically slow.

Wow those are amazing photos Mike. Thanks for sharing.
The only National Parks I've been to are Acadia in Maine, and Sequoia in Ca. Those pics surely compete with the wonders in those parks.

I like the first photo the best with the mountains and trees. You could blow that one up a little and frame it.They all look good though.
I've been trying to get my wife up that way for the last couple vacations.

Mike, sounds like you had a good time. Bring some of those to the meet, I would like to see them, if you don't care. Sure has a different "feel" then our little mountains here in the Smokeys. Stef and I have been to Denver couple time to visit friends and have be able to drive around in the mountains. While they don't have the different trees we do, the snow capped mountains make up for it.

I couldn't resist, here's a couple more. Actually the Alps in Europe are a bit taller and bigger but no more beautiful. That 1st photo is of the Glacier Park valley where the lodge is located. I was about 2 mi out on the trail headed toward the lake in crater, Iceberg Lake, which is 2nd of these photos. This is an area called Many Glacier but should be named Mini-Glacier or maybe Micro-Glacier since they have shrunk back to practically nothing. I have a new camera, a Fuji Finepix S3000, and was not totally familiar with it so some of them didn't come out just right. The 6x optical zoom was very handy, though.
