Attn: Les

Les how many hubs are in the market for, Matt needs to how many for a good price. Also the XR7 is a '89 right?

How does sunday look for you? I'm going to rent the 3 jaw puller from crappy tire for the s/c pulley swap, and I'm thinking that right now I'll put in the MAC intake(just can't seem to wait)

drop me line here or call work, call before noon as I'm exiting early for the weekend.

Guys, keep in mind that the 89 and 90 cars an be swapped over to the much less expensive 91-up hubs by changing the rotors as wll at the same time. You can buy two newer style hubs and two rotors for a bit more than one 89-90 hub !!

cheers

Ryan,

Did Ed find you a MAC intake? If so, I'll feel better. I really want to try and make use of mine with the 85mm TB.

Ryan Sunday looks good seeing as I'm off on holidays all of next week it's as good a day as any. I still have one brand new cheap seal sitting it a cupboard at home, do you need it?

Yes the XR7 is the same hub as 89-90. I need only one and that's a maybe if the price is good.

Ed if I understood Ryan correctly his friend is getting these things at around $140.00 for 89-90 which is an unheard of GREAT price.

Ed,

Please enlighten Les. I think I remember you telling me about a price less than $140/ea for the newer hubs, no?

Les,

Where have you been hiding, man? ...It's been over a week since I've seen/heard from you. I can't believe it... I'm going into 'Les withdrawal'! LOL

What's up with your hubs? I've still got the front hubs off that wreck (one of which is your old hub, Les). Do you want to try one of them?

Cheers,

Sean

Hey Sean, I've been around but somewhat busy at work since I came back from Cupertino CA. Nice to hear from you!!!
I know I can get those new style hubs from Ed for about $140 each..but if Ryan understood his friend correctly he has a line on the old style hubs for about tha same price. I already have one virtually brand new one that I got last year from the wreckers and the one from you which may be on it's way out, not sure, I have to check it very closely. So there is nothing to gain by going to the newer style hub IF I can get the old style for the same price.
Sean I just gotta borrow that 10 percent pulley from you till you get around to putting it on your car. I have lost a lot of that ~~~~ your pants get up and go at the low end..LOL..I can hardly get the boost to peg 13lbs in 3rd anymore...what fun is that?? She's got lots of power in the upper RPM range after about 3400rpm.

Ryan you lazy puke,,,LOL,,,,ok later Sunday morning then, how about I get to your place by 11AM...late enough? I'll bring that snout seal with me, only thing is we may have to re-use your thermostat gasket, it has to come off to use the 3 jaw puller. Can you get to Ford and pick up one? I might be able to, if not that's what RTV is for.

Great you got all the goodies we need. No the other motor mount should not be too bad at all. Though we will have to work around the A/C bracket, too much of a pain to take that one out.

I never did pick up an after market IAC to see if the ones up here exhibit similar problems to some of the US aftermarket ones(assembled backwards yet they say it's the one for the NA 3.8 and the SC'd 3.8). They are the same from Ford mind you.

Maybe before I go to your place I'll hit CTC and see if they or the warehouse(near my place) has one and I'll bring it along and we'll give it a go. It;s either the right one or the wrong one..LOL.

Les,

I'd prefer not to 'lend' out that 10% ASP OD pulley, as it already has a couple of minor nicks in it from when Wayne owned it. These things are really hard to put on and take back off without doing any damage to them. Also, I checked for any kind of identification (part number) so that some of the other guys could order these from Keystone (CTC), but unfortunately, there wasn't any.

Why have you been losing the torque? Is it that latest exhaust work? What's the boost gauge reading at peak now? You haven't noticed anything else funny going on, have you? I hope that 180,000km plus mill isn't showing signs of crapping out?!

Are you sure you even want to turn the wick up on the blower??? More boost might not be a good thing for that motor right now?

Regards,

Sean
