Steigemeier Racing Cylinder Heads

SuperCoupes Unlimited is pleased to announce the addition of Steigemeier Racing Cylinder Head services to our product line.

Steigemeier heads are generally known to outflow and outperform all other designs, but only now are they being made available in different stages and price points.

There are 3 stages of modification available, with all stages sharing the same valve spring/retainer package that all previous Steigemeier heads have come with and are good for over .600" lift and 7000+rpm. All heads are true bolt on, meaning that stock valve installed height remains and all standard SC rocker arm applications will bolt on directly. No custom parts or machine work is needed to use these heads. Because of the extensive enlargement of the intake ports, port-matching of the intake manifold is highly recommended. In all cases usable cores will be required.

Stage I: This is an entry level package designed to be used with only a mild cam upgrade (or even a stock cam!). While listed as an entry level package, these heads carry the exact same porting as found in the Stage III heads minus the welding and additionally save you money by retaining the stock valves. Stage I heads are fully rebuilt with new bronze guides, seals, and resurfaced stock valves. Flow numbers will be released shortly.

$999

Stage II: This package is aimed at the serious Supercoupe and weekend warrior type customer. It uses 1.88/1.58 stainless valves and flows 220 I/185 E for an excellent 84% I/E ratio. This head will work equally as well with an N/A application as it does with forced induction.

$1199

Stage III: These are the welded heads that many of the top SC's in the country are using. These heads have proven to be capable of much more than an M90 equipped 3.8 can handle. Because of the extensive work required for these heads, these will be available on a limited basis and with significant lead time required. These heads flow 220-225 I and 210-215 E meaning that these are ready for serious high boost applications.

$1799

Intake manifold porting is also available for an additional $150 which will match your new heads perfectly.

Email me for details.

David

Not currently, it is something we are looking into though. Tom at Super Six Motorsports has specialized in them as I'm sure you know.

Sorry to hear that, I was hoping Bob had played with the exhaust ports and acheived #s comparable to the SC heads already.

Are these prices for both heads? Don't mean to sound stupid here, but I haven't priced out heads yet becuase I already knew I couldn't afford them before.

Thanks
Nick

No problem. The pricing is for a pair with your cores provided. If you are not able to send your cores in, then an additional $200 fee is charged.

Just ask for the biggest Cam/Head package available. ... He'll make it up. And it'll go!

Cams are pretty unique to what you plan to do with the car as a goal. Dave is more than willing to give you recommendations and handle either a new cam or a regrind for your particular application. I'll be shipping off some heads and cam core shortly for some work and he gave a very reasonable quote for the work.

Yes, there are head and cam packages available. Simply add $175 for a regrind or $335 for a completely new cam. Exact specifications will be tailored to your application. We do not believe in a "one size fits all" cam grind.

Unfortunately Bob's website is not current regarding the 3.8 cylinder head program. Last I checked most of the picture links were broken and pricing is not current. Bob is mainly doing the Cobra and Lightning blower porting with just a few SC heads snuck in there at my request.

Thanks!

Is that $175 for any grind?

I was looking around for cams once before, and was interested in higher lift cam talked about here, but realized that the stock valvetrain would have to be changed. I was considering a home port job when looking before.

I am kinda intersted in this now....

You mention that the Stage III is more then the M90 can use. Does this include the MP blowers? Is the Stage III meant for the EMS/Whipple setups?

I ask beacause even the MP would be a huge future maybe for me, and I just wanted to be sure I understand you corectly in assuming the stage III would be minimal gain over the stageII even with an MP setup.

What does nitrous mean to the stage II vs III setup?

I tried to keep the questions general here, and will email you with more specific questions directly.

Also, would an extra set of assembled heads be of any value to you or steigemeir? I ask becasue I would send my spare heads in to be done while building the engine and will have an extra set when things are done. I would imageine that others might be in the same boat...

Thanks!

One more question.

Will they o-ring a set of heads?

I know it isnt as good as o-ringing the block but a local shop here says they will do it, and it should help out for moderate boost and mild nitrous...

Any input?

Thank you!
