well i hear Dave is the best tuner around, not sure how you guys feel about eachother(i say this because i see your post count and know that you have to know that dave does tuning), but remember bussiness is bussiness, but i have heard nothnig but damn good things about him here, and on the underground. So your not to far from ohio, why not take a jump hop and a skip over there, and get yourself a tune, because as much as myself or anyone else would love to buy it, its jsut not justifyeable(sp= i know i screwed that one all up) You ahve put so much money into your sc, and many countless hours. So take yourself a little drive man, have a good time.

Could you really see yourself parting with it? Honestly, you know, i know that you would regret it FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. You show a very strong interest in these cars, and youd forever kick yourself in the a$$ if you sold it.

Just my .02 cents

Randy,

I'm still trying to talk Brian Herron or David Dalke into coming to Steigmeier's in St. Louis to tune our cars. I haven't been able to get either of them to set up a confirmed date yet, but I'm not giving up. I'd really like to drive my DOHC XR7 soon, but I can't until it gets tuned (it's running WAY too rich).

I need more than just one tune,Dave is just to far away.I would not get rid of the body, just the 3.8 related parts,I am tired of not being able to get a chip
or tune for this 3.8 parts.

I have people around close that can tune for blown mod motor. So If
I want to keep my SC Bird.I will need to switch to stang power.

3.8 power is the same as a bastard stepchild. No back up.

Not that I have a ton of experience with tuners, but for the most part it keep in mind that money talks.

SCT guys can tune more than SC's. Not speaking for Brian or Dave, but our local club has had some guys up (Chris and Jerry I believe) here in the past by setting up dyno weekends and recruiting cars from all over the area. Anything with a EEC-IV will work, Maybe even EEC-V?. I think they can even tweak diesels?

Get a bunch of cars that want to tune, find a dyno operator that wants to make some guarenteed money on a weekend and it helps to get a tuner at your door.

Since advertising in the forum is not appreciated in general, I'd suggest talking to the folks directly seeing if you can guarentee so many cars, how many do they need to tune to be willing to come out. I know some of the SCT guys get very...very..very busy with tuning, plus their normal life.

Thanks Mike but I am interrested in more that one tune for myself.
One time tune is of no help, for what I had planned.

I just need to buy the tuneing tools and hire and get someone close,
then trained for my own use.Or dump the 3.8 stuff.

Thanks RANDY

Actually Randy the SCT software is easy to use and they even sell a book to help you with tuning.....On top of that they have a forum and will giv eyou a base tune to work with.

Id say the last 700 or so spent is what you need...Plus the chip will hold 4 tunes

Damon I had made contact with sct a couple weeks ago,no return.

rattlehead they will not mess with 3.8 stuff. I am about 55 miles south of them.

I been looking for a year or more for a place for a tune.TIME TO MOVE ON TO SOMTHING ELSE.

Damon I e-mail them ,no return.I can't even find how to sign up to
be a dealer on there web page .So do you think I can tune with there
stuff?

And it cost a lot more than $700.00. First you need.
1. LM-1 with RPM. I had one burnt up hooking it up $450.00 x2 $900.00
2. A windows based computor.$1500.00 plus.I have Macs.
3.Plus there is always hidden costs.

Thanks RANDY

Don't bother with Anderson in Clinton. They aren't interested and if they were it would cost you an arm and a leg on their dyno and your results would be questionable. Don't bother with FC customs in Springfield either. They have diablo software and will tell you that they can do it, but you'll be a guinea pig for sure.

My setup, which works well enough to tune your SC will cost less than $1500 complete.

I got a laptop off Ebay - $250.
LM-1 with RPM converter - $450
SCT Racer Package - $650.

That is all I have for tuning a 90 SC. It works well but you do have to learn the "language" of tuning an EFI car. It is quite different than carburators and will take some time to get comfortable with.

all over 250 miles away.

This makes my SC a peice of junk.
