SC Shootout 2006 Rules First Draft
Here are the rules in first draft form. Look them over, if there are any typographical errors or any other discrepencies, there may be some slight changes made over the year but this is the general format for the new rules as determined by the SC Shootout Committee.
Feel free to ask questions on anything that is not clear and I will do my best to answer them. Major changes included 1) opening competition in all classes but Street Stock to alternative sources of forced induction. This includes not only twin screws but also centrifugal blowers and turbos, and 2) the creation of a pure stock class. There are other minor adjustments but in most cases if you will probably fit the same classes next year that you fit this year. Quote:

I'll start by asking about the first 2 classes.

"Full exhaust" means exactly that. Whatever full exhaust you run on the street you have to run at the track. No dropping the back half or running open headers at the track. It doesn't have to be out the back either. There are cars running with side exhaust. This is legal.
In Street Stock the motor must look more or less like it did from the factory. This is a class designed for true bolt on SC's with minimal mods. If you have a FMIC, non-stock IC tubes, an extreme blower (MPII and above fit this catagory) any kind of fuel additives, or have removed significant equipment such that the car has lost some of it's OE accessories, then it no longer qualifies as Street Stock and runs in Super Stock. OE type IC means just what it says, air/air IC which retains stock IC tubes and resides in stock location. Street Stock will run pump gas (94 octane max) only. Anything else? ![]()

. Just as long as I can get my 92 complete in time for the event. I'll just have Rich, David, and Chris to battle against unless someone else comes up with a fast V8 car.Shane |

So does ditching the AC bump a guy up or not? It looks like with slicks and alcohol I will be in Super Street anyway, but I would still like to know.

"factory supercharged MN12"
Dammit, get rid of the word factory and I'd qualify for street stock. Now us Allen guys will all have to be in outlaw V8 class. |

I expect this class will be as competitive as lasts years Street Stock. Most of us at the top of the Street stock class could bump up without much grief. Hell Charles and Randy both had the alcohol tunred off for the event. It will be interesting to see if my home ported blower can hang with big dogs. Gonna have to get lots of seat time in this year . . . cut down on that red ligh-titis.Dave Last edited by Big Cat Davo; 12-20-2005 at 11:29 AM.. |
