Hood Weight and strut size

Can anyone tell me the weight or a close guess of a 95 stock hood. Also if anyone knows pressure of the OEM struts. I am wanting to make my hood open on its own without it throwing the hood open and it landing in another zip code or break out the stock mounting points from to much pressure.

I am thinking of either leaving it stock with bigger stuts that will lift it when I maually open the safty catch....or maybe using a auto trunk lock with a push button in the car or by remote and removing the safty catch altogather.
