Facts on the SVT Cobra 2003 vs SVT Cobra R 2000

Hello all
I saw the other post on the Cobra 2003 vs 2000 Cobra R
The Cobra 2003 I think is nice and will sell good
The 2003 will reach a peak speed of 155mph as tested

The Cobra R 2000 top speed is over 170+ mph so this means as proven and tested the Cobra R 2000 is much faster plus the value will always be much greater for the 2000 Cobra R

The Cobra R is and will be the fastest production Mustang ever built I will never part with mine a part of FORD History

.

The 00 R that MM&FF did 12.5 in, I don't believe was on the stock tires, I think they put DRs on it. And the 03 Cobra is governed to 155 because of aerodynamics. They didn't want to add the foot tall wing of the R needed to make it stable at the 180 it's capable of.

Re: R

I feel bad, but I agree with Jim about getting a cobra R. The only reason is because it's fast without a blower.

My personally philosophy for fast cars is get a fast NA car and then put a blower/turbo on it.

Of course, I thought a few days ago Jim said he was going to put up or shut up.

Blah.

"Fastest" is always relative term.

Does the 15mph advantage a Cobra R has really matter? When are you going to be deadlocked in a top end race that reaches over 150mph? That is the only thing is has over the 2003 Cobra. The limited run deal is nice, if you are into showing the car.

I've been in both. I'd take both anyday, but if I had to choose one, it'd be the '03 Cobra. I swap out the exhaust, change a pulley and some tires and it runs 11s.

Re: Blah.

Check out the post I just put up, it's got a pic of the 2003 Cobra SVT...I'd take both anyday as well, but if I had my choice, I'd take the SVT in a heartbeat! The pic is from the June issue of R&T. I quote "The 2003 Cobra is the most powerful production Mustang ever." The 2003 also has more front end weight than the older models, for what it's worth.
-Jeff
Both are VERY sweet rides!

Re: Facts on the SVT Cobra 2003 vs SVT Cobra R 2000

Last time I checked this was/is the BBS for "Thunderbird SC", not SVT Mustangs.

If Jim wants to discuss his very nice SC, by all means proceed. However I don't think that this is the forum for discussing which is faster, an 2003 SVT Cobra or 2000 Cobra R, I don't see a T-Bird anywhere in that discussion. I am sure that the very proud onwers of SVT Mustangs has a forum of their own. No disrespect intended to anyone.

Next topic please.

Steve.

You say lets be adults and grow up and your reply to me for my first post in this forum is "don't read it then" Apparently some people cant take constructive criticism. Also that post about Escorts is just one post, and most other kill stories include an SC some where in that discussion.

Once again, no disrespect intended to anyone.
