New Problems!

Well here is the story I buy this truck ( 1983 F150 with a 351W) and drives flawlessly all sunday, so monday morning i leave at 11 AM to head back home (Missouri) i wans in Minnesota thats also where i bought the truck so anyways i drive all day and just past Kansas City MO i hop onto I70 and all of a sudden just nothing i lose all power so im running dead so i dump the clutch into 3rd to get some power back and it just bucks so i coast into a truck PARKING so i have nothing no tools no utilities no food or water for that matter and i call up my dad and i tell him were not getting any gas because it has a carb so i pulled gas line off and there was NO fuel gushing while cranking so he says he'll stop at oriellys and pick me up a fuel pump (mechanical) so 2 1/2 hrs later at 10:30PM my dad comes rollin up and we replace the fuel pump and we pour and pour and piour gas into the carb finally it rumbles to life and its driving funky like anything less than 75 it starts bucking so about 45 miles from home t just plain old ~~~~~ out on me on a back country road so we drive the 45 miles back home in dads car and get 2 6 gal gas cans...PS gauge read little over 1/2....and an air compressor so we get back to the truck and fill up the tank and back blow the fuel line to tank and hear bubbles and magically she starts up so we limp home and dropped the tank yesterday and the fuel level sending unit...has gas pickup line in it well it had a hole rusted in it so i figured hey its not pulling a vaccum and thus no fuel so i fix that problem and my dad puts it all together for me while im at work and it ran GREAT for him i get in it and try to start it and nothing the fuel filter is DRY and its not pumping fuel so im lost/mad/pissed/stumped at this so anyone have anything to say please help me

Tony

Yeah...the ignition switch. I wish I had seen this earlier...Next time you are gonna roll through KCMO, let me know...I would have pimped that way and helped you out. Just so happens Im handy with vehicle thingies.

Next time you are up this way (provided I can get a weekend pass) we can get dirty together. Little bit of rust never hurt anybody...so long as there was a tetnus shot involved.

This is what happens when the SC guys get together.

Chris

IMO lose the moon visor on the windsheild and lose the lil cab spoiler thingy and it will be one badass looking truck! But regaurdless, thats one hell of a buy...

Damn Chris.. No need to roll the fenders to put bigger tires on, you dont have much fender left lol. But that thing does have some nice azz rims..
