TSB for Transmission TV cable grommet

Ford has issued an upgrade for the rubber grommet that attaches the automatic transmission TV cable to the throttle body linkage.  As the rubber grommet ages, the TV cable can become loose and pop off by itself.  The TV cable controls the internal line pressure of the transmission.  If the TV cable does become disconnected, the transmission will not upshift or downshift properly.  The lack of TV pressure will cause the transmission to burnout  it's clutches within several minutes and will need to be rebuilt.  Do not attempt to drive the car without the TV cable connected.
