Dick Adams' 1995 Thunderbird SC
|
|
This car is the second SC I have owned. The first was a 1989 5-speed. Between the 1989 and my 1995 I owned
a 1993 Ford Taurus SHO (great engine looking for a car) and a 1994 Ford Explorer. I was on the verge of trading my SC on
a Mustang Cobra when I read in Super Ford magazine that Bill Hull was starting a Super Coupe club. I called
Bill and joined the club. Shortly after that my wife Judy and I attended the first SC meet in Carlisle, Pennsylvania
and as they say "the rest is history".
We have attended every club event that has been held. The great thing about these events, besides all the great
looking SCs are the super people we have met. I have recently started a
Super Coupe Club of the Carolinas Chapter of the SCCoA to serve
members living in/near North and South Carolina. We plan on holding a kick-off meeting in the Spring when the weather opens up.
In addition to the SCCoA meets, the car has been shown in numerous events and local car shows. Listed below is the awards the car has won.
- Top 75 Winner - Festival in the Park, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, 1997
- 2nd Place - Mustang and Ford Show - Raleigh, North Carolina, 1997
- 3rd Place - Carlisle All Ford Nationals, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, 1998
- Best in Class - Fords at Englishtown, Englishtown, New Jersey, 1998
- First Place - Fords at Englishtown, Englishtown, New Jersey, 1998
- Top 50 Winner - Festival in the Park, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, 1998
- First Place - Virginia Peanut Festival, 1998
- Best Appearing Ford - Virginia Peanut Festival, 1998
- First Place - Mustang and Ford Show - Raleigh, North Carolina, 1998
- Class Champion - Ford Fever Classic - Budds Creek, Maryland, 1998
The car is driven daily, year round.
