I have a 95 sc and it runs extremely hot like top of the gauge and guzzles gas

Your posts are getting confusing , you said that it guzzles gas when you drove it , if its got an evaporation style leak and it was going threw a significant amount of fuel then you would have a very strong raw fuel smell , if its got that kind of raw fuel leaking or fuming out from anywhere its...

I have a 95 sc and it runs extremely hot like top of the gauge and guzzles gas

Where is the fuel leak .. not something to take lightly , I am assuming its internal ie injectors not closing properly or possibly the regulator diaphragm , if it was external you would be losing enough fuel to make it incredibly dangerous to drive .

*Intermittent no start, can't chase it down*

No cats should be alot louder underneath , plugged cats will be alot quieter than stock . If someone near you can lend you an ECU to swap just in case the injector drivers are not working properly that's a fairly easy test.

Is it possible to pull 5.0 oil pan on the 91-92 models while still in the engine bay .

I pulled the pan , but to do it as MadMikey said, I had to drop the K member ... process was , use an over the frame/fender rails engine support sitting on the upper shock towers with small pcs of plywood to protect the paint , put a bit of pull on the adjustment hangers to keep it in its...

    Spark plug mystery

Maybe he was thinking cylinder [ boosted ] pressure, the higher the cylinder pressure and or plug gap the harder it is for the spark to jump .. " blow it out " is a term used for years but really from my experience its always meant spark can not jump the plug gap.

Is it possible to pull 5.0 oil pan on the 91-92 models while still in the engine bay .

Thanks Doug , I have the turbo fairly low on the passenger side so not enough natural drop for it drain properly at that point .. would have been much simpler .

Is it possible to pull 5.0 oil pan on the 91-92 models while still in the engine bay .

Thanks Adam for your input , looks like the cross member needs to drop or just pull the engine and do a few upgrades at the same time .. turbo will be low boost, maybe 7-10lbs tops [ at this point ] , just for a bit more fun driving it .

Is it possible to pull 5.0 oil pan on the 91-92 models while still in the engine bay .

Thank you MadMikey , I figured that was the last resort , hoping to not have to support the engine to undo the sub frame .... don't want to mess up the fresh engine bay paint etc . Was hoping someone has had experience in getting it out with possibly jacking the engine up off the mounts enough...

Is it possible to pull 5.0 oil pan on the 91-92 models while still in the engine bay .

Anyone with experience with this ? . I have to install an oil drain fitting on the pan for the turbo , trying to avoid pulling the engine , but can be done if needed.. unfortunately this will then encourage further mods like heads etc that I really should not be putting on this engine. Thank...

*Intermittent no start, can't chase it down*

The connector with the three wires looks like its for the coolant level sensor . Not sure if its mandatory in the system to run the engine , ie fail safe shut down , but it could trip a code on the EEC. The plastic mass air may be a newer Ford unit from a lightning or similar larger bodies MA's...

    Anyone still Driving em

Hi Drew. We will be driving the 93 again this year, just doing a few mods to it at the moment . If they start the Picton Arm Drop drag race events again at the Picton Air Port that would be a great place to meet and also anyone wanting to run their car can do so.. a bit of a trek from the GTA...

How do I remove the hood emblem?

They are crappy sheet metal nuts that will most likely disintegrate when you try to turn them , spray a pile of WD onto them , let it sit for a few minutes , wipe off access, then attempt to get a smaller locking needle nose pliers in there to get them to turn or a slightly larger socket with...

    Fuel Pump Access

I have taken a look at a few posts here , unless its a race car , and that is even stretching it , butchering up the car for this is nuts, ....drilling , cutting near a gas tank just to avoid a few hours to remove it properly is completely hillbilly and also dangerous in the future if there is...

    1990 heater core replacement

1200+ is nuts , yes it is a big job but not brain surgery , unless you are rolling in the cash and don't care about paying that , I suggest getting a friend or two that have some mechanical experience and take a run at it , you have enough info here to know what to look for and avoid ..you...

    1990 heater core replacement

" if he can't even locate the heater hoses, find a different mechanic " x 10 You may eventually have to fix what he did not know about . Pulling a dash is a big job , so one mistake means two big jobs . Back yard mid level mechanics can do it with fairly basic tools , I have pulled more than a...

    Winter project

Ya, dump that solid bushing , go full bearing . If you don't have a puller, get a rod that will just fit into the hole , pack grease into the bushing hole first then put the rod in and give it a tap with a hammer , it should push the bushing out pretty easily ... " should " .
