Need advice URGENT: Stranded in Atlanta

Update: Thank you thank you for the recommendation!! After they got the part in they decided to quote me $680 for a damn PS pressure hose!! I called my trusted mechanic in FL and he said no more than $350 total. I think they saw my FL plates and my road-trip supplies and put 2 and 2 together...

Need advice URGENT: Stranded in Atlanta

Ended up finding a mechanic who's open, the pressure line hose is completely ruptured. If it was the pump or rack that were bad I'd drive it home but since it's the hose I don't want to ruin the pump by driving it that far without fluid. I did try some Lucas I had in my trunk last night and it...

Need advice URGENT: Stranded in Atlanta

Hi all, Not sure if anyone will read this before the morning, but I'm currently stuck in Atlanta as my power steering in the SC just died. On my way back to Daytona Beach from a road trip through the Smokies I went over a bump and immediately lost Power Steering. Car is currently parked in my...

What's your biggest ever "screw up" while working on your SC?

Good lord...yeah I think you win

What's your biggest ever "screw up" while working on your SC?

So today I had to fork out $650 to my mechanic to replace my entire intake manifold after I snapped off an EZ Out inside a broken off thermostat housing bolt. After I finished beating myself over the head for being so stupid as to mess up that bad, I got to wondering, could it get any worse? So...

    '90 SC Running Cold/kiw MPG

As you guys might remember, about a year ago I replaced my entire AC system, and my cooling fan motor. Ever since then, the engine has been running really cold, especially when the AC is on. I think this is causing the car to run rich, and my MPG hasn't been the same ever since (I've been...

Where on earth is this sunroof drain line?

I've read all the other sunroof posts, and honestly I'm still downright puzzled. I've spent the better part of 5 hours trying to find this darn drain, but I can't find it for anything. From what I understand, there's supposed to be a blue tube running down the A-Pillar that just hangs down into...

Where on earth is this sunroof drain line?

We've been getting TONS of rain down here in Florida, and my sunroof has done a great job of ringing in summer by leaking all over my car. Specifically from the front driver side of the sunroof, giving me a nice afternoon shower on my way home from school. I've narrowed it down to a clogged...

WTB Driver side tail light for 1990 SC

Oh also, just while I've got your attention, do you have a '90-style VMM laying around you'd be willing to part with? I've been meaning to pick one up. Just thought I'd ask :)

WTB Driver side tail light for 1990 SC

Anyone selling a driver side corner tail light for a 1990 SC? My mom rammed into mine with the garbage can and put a giant crack in it xD. I'm located in FL (32124).

    Control arms and shocks/struts question

Yeah it's definitely torn. Straight rip right down the side. I did put ALOT of grease in it, probably like 10 pumps (I know, really dumb idea). They're Precision brand parts from O'Reilly, suggested by my mechanic. None of the other joints did this. I'd love to just buy a different brand but...

    Control arms and shocks/struts question

Welp I'm a complete and utter dumbass. I over-greased my new lower ball joint. I can tell the boot cracked, and grease started oozing out of it. I was just about to put the wheels on too. Should I take it back and get a replacement (has a lifetime warranty)? Or is this not a big deal? Ugh this...

    Control arms and shocks/struts question

Thanks for the help, managed to wiggle it in after pulsing the top nut with an impact wrench! Just for clarification, does the strut rod to LCA nut need to be tightened while the car is on the ground? I know the UCA and LCA to frame bolts need to, but I'm just not sure about the Strut rod...

    Control arms and shocks/struts question

Hey guys, sorry I've been away, I've been REALLY sick the past few weeks. But anyway, my dad took the struts back to the mechanic, and he seems to be under the impression that they're McPhearson-type struts that rotate, and that I could just stick a screwdriver through (after mounting it to the...

    Control arms and shocks/struts question

Yep that's a good point. I hope that the "good things come to those who wait" saying is actually true xD. At this point it'll be more than a week until I'll be able to touch it again (aside from tomorrow). Working on a car is probably not the best way to keep a central line sterile ;) I'm...

    Control arms and shocks/struts question

Oh sorry, the original (old) nuts were actually nylocs, that's why I reused them instead of the new (different) crimp locks. The ones that came with the new LCAs were crimp locks.

    Control arms and shocks/struts question

Okay, yeah I put the old ones on just because they were there already, but I might go out tomorrow and pick up a new pair of nylocs. I'm also beginning to think the mechanic who transferred the old shock to the spring and mount aligned it incorrectly. I tried both struts on the passenger side...
