Improving cooling, better aux rad or removing oil cooler lines to its own system?

Hi Will, I’m in the think box stage. Must new cars simply run external radiators when you opt them with track packages. Increasing cooling capacity and moving it away from the condenser. Some of the more serious racers will remove the coolant flow to the oil adapter. And run an external air...

Improving cooling, better aux rad or removing oil cooler lines to its own system?

Given that oil cooling is supposedly responsible for cooling the engine 20-30%. Would it prove beneficial to remove the hoses from the water pump and create a separate cooling for the oil, heat exchanger with an external pump? Or do we simply add an Aux radiator parallel to assist the main...

    Transmission friction modifier question

You only want what is required. If you had no issues before and its gradually started to grind you probably will need a tear down to replace the blockers. You can inspect the blockers taking the top cover off, unfortunately the trans needs to come down to do that. Recently I had dropped the...

Stunt Driving School and Big Decisions - Long Post

Me and my kids enjoy watching bass boosted car videos on YouTube. Videos last the duration if a music track. All they do is slide around most are filmed in Europe, I find it entertaining watching them slide around and doing rolling shots. I also imagine these kids have too much time on their...

    Aftermarket Carpet Help.

I agree with the heat! Another reason I ended up with the mark rug. The fibers are more uniform and plush over the curly nappy a stocker had. Before discarding, bring it to the power wash bay highest power one and try to clean it up. Not sure how bad it will look after but maybe worth doing that...

    Aftermarket Carpet Help.

I was unhappy when I didn’t order it. Wrinkles and no extra insulation. Cut pile was cheap too.

    Aftermarket Carpet Help.

I had bought the ACC before and took it out. The opal didn’t quite match, charcoal gray or any darker gray actually accents the car better than the monochromatic look Ford was going for in the 90s my car has mark VIII in black. Advise is to get all the upgrades. Backing and the upgraded fiber...

    Sawing machine sounds.

The main sewing machine sounds I was worried about went away after the oil change. But if I tackle the front cover leak this winter I will inspect that and likely replace. Lifter noise seems normal now, but it’s not a quiet engine by any means, so it’s hard to pinpoint abnormal engine noises...

Front air deflector material for 94/95

Maybe try stitching it. But maybe a truck tire splash guard might be large enough to trace.

    Sawing machine sounds.

I know. Just want to end the season with a running car. IÂ’ve put on a lot of miles this summer, trying to ensure the clutch is properly seated, and gone on many rallies to shows and meets and some have some distance, some hard miles this summer. I had a feeling something was not right since I...

    Sawing machine sounds.

Update. Changed the oil, did 40 weight I was running 30w, I had done it at the start of the summer, car sounds back to what I am used to. Not sure if the oil was thinned out. It was a quart or so low aswell. I wish this car had oil life and level sensors. Thanks for listening. Still a sewing...

    Sawing machine sounds.

Before I part this cancer of a car, I’d like to remain calm and definitively check my brain and senses because I swear I am loosing it or maybe I just know the car too well. Here we go, so my car has been quieter with the new muffler and I went through several gaskets to get rid of an exhaust...

Hot summer days and the SC

At a loss with the extra relays and wiring. I found a way of energizing the lo wire with a fourth relay. And tested the system via the KO code reading sequence. I got them at the slow speed when the LO wire went hot, and when the HI wire got power both fans ran on high setting by giving 12v to...

Question on Cobra vs MN12 diff cover

My money is on the driveshaft. I chased a vibration for nearly a decade, I have the group buy Kelly Simmons and that required to use your own yoke etc. Well the whole thing was out of balance and changed diffs and tires over and over, over the years. Once I balanced the shaft all was better.

Hot summer days and the SC

Almost had it working, both fans turned on at 6v each when Lo went hot, but when the Hi wire goes hot the monkey wrench on my car is that the LO speed shuts off. So I’m left with only one operating at 12v while the second one takes a break. Argh! It gotta figure out how to energize the relay...

Hot summer days and the SC

I finished installing the new Mishimoto fans, I cant share pics they are always too big! And unfortunately summer decided to pack it up and temps in Boston are mid seventies, so just like every year my fan takes a dump, testing will have to wait till next year. I just need to wire the relays in...

Hot summer days and the SC

Excellent info gentlemen. Ralph I like the parallel idea. Never knew fans can be run like that to slow them down. That would help with longevity assuming at low speeds it gets it done in mild temperatures. Feeling positive!
