    MPX on stock 92

You can use it, but will likely lose bottom end as the efficiency range is moved up, if you keep the same boost level it will not cause issues. Stock pully and TB will do that.

    The latest with my SC

Good Job Will, on the personal weight loss and the car. Some of those parts are pretty cool made out of aluminum. When I went on a quest for weight reduction I now feel I went too wrong on a few items. But I guess it depends on the intended use. The K member will help a lot. But I scraped tar...

    89 SC won't run above 1500rpm

Check for cam sensor stalk play. I actually had a near catastrophic failure with the timing chain tensioners bad and chain and gears about to let go and also grinded away at the cam stalk and cam gear aswell, my car is not stock however. But cam codes were present, sensor was fine it was the...

    89-93 and 94-95 Alternator differences?

If I am not mistaking they are all Mitsubishi units, Keep an eye on alignment of the pulley, hopefully they provide one, I know some shafts used a pulley spacer/washer. I forget the reason.

    Angel eyes/Halo anyone please help!!!!

Are you sure you are not breaking down the led bulb enough to install the ring. Mine were two piece, but came in one piece so it looked like you could not break it apart.

Hot summer days and the SC

For those who don’t have Facebook, just putting some pics of what I’m working with. Radiator is a two row with two 1” tubes, it’s slightly thinner than a griffin for an SC or a cold case that Tim runs, those use x2 1.25” tubes. The fans are Mishimoto Brushless HD 10”

Hot summer days and the SC

Still debating, and it is someway experimental, I don’t have an oil temp gauge. There is a port on the sandwich adapter I believe can be used for an aftermarket sensor. I have a custom Kmember so I hope to clear it all, it’s not that thick of an adapter anyhow, Stock location is the idea, less...

Hot summer days and the SC

Going to also start building an engine oil cooler, this is the thermostatic oil filter adapter plate, it will open at around 170f. It will pass to an external oil cooler. I will need to build me some -10AN fittings and hoses. Hope to install it inside the bumper somewhere. I have to decide if...

Hot summer days and the SC

An interesting point on the balance sleeve is that it’s good at the track since it does bypass some coolant, imagine after a cool down period, temps are below 180 and you go for a run. That thermostat will have a delay for opening fully and a quick pass can allow added pressures to build up...

Hot summer days and the SC

Thanks David, The MR gasket one appears to be a balanced sleeve type, the original design is a poppet type. I can’t prove one flows more but they say a poppet type should flow more when fully open and shuts completely with water pump pressure to allow quicker warming. The balanced sleeve aligns...

    Stock radiator differences

Cross flows tend to be longer, but if same core size they should be the same. There are different designs in the aftermarket. Double row vs triple row. And the new trend is dual pass and triple pass. Triple pass I guess requieres more pump flow, there will be elevated pressure from the flow...

    Stock radiator differences

That aluminum looks custom as it’s wider than stock. And horizontal as you pointed out .

    Stock radiator differences

Aftermarket after a while stopped the 94 production. Yea the early ones for minus your observation. Unless griffin most came with the auto internal cooler. It doesn’t hurt anything. Unless original ford you are limited.

Thank you David but not sure what the part number would be for that. The pictures are not clear online cause they are generic. On your thread it claims it looked like a stock one? There is only a couple of high flow ones showing up on rock auto. They have the tripod support and the guts have a...

Hot summer days and the SC

Thank you all. Seems there is about a 15-20 degree difference to full open. At average temps of 220f both should be fully open but maybe the 192f if dwell time myth is true it might help. But the more I read the more I believe that the Dwell time theories is just a myth. Flow should be...

Hot summer days and the SC

Yes the restrictor theories contradict the closed loop theories. While increase pressure in the engine circulation side might prevent some sort of hot spots from forming. If you allow the coolant to stay longer in the radiator common sense would say you are allowing more heat to build up in the...

Hot summer days and the SC

Thanks Chris and external aux or oil cooler is in my mind, but trying to debunk the thermostat theories of one running hotter than the other. I spend several hours reading online. And basically there are always two camps to thermostats and fluid thermodynamics. One side says Tstat only...

Hot summer days and the SC

I don’t have a stock fan, I have a MPIC and two 10” electric fans. But as I mentioned the radiator is heat soaked and I cannot go lower than. 220 when full demand. The fans are scheduled to go on at 195 and turn off at 185 which it does when the ambient air is cooler. So spring and fall is fine...
