    3.8sc engine assembly

Before I list it on ebay, does anyone have any interest in a full 3.8sc assembly? It's from a 92 SC. I bought it for my ranchero but can't keep holding on to it over the hopes that I find a front sump oil pan. I'm trying to buy a 351c given it's a lot less stress. Bought it from a mechanic that...

    Front sump 3.8 pan

I have 3.00 gearing and I unfortunately do not. It's just kinda what I have at the moment and I'm just running with it

    Front sump 3.8 pan

Yeah but I can't afford 6 mpg at this stage in life. The 302 got around 12 if i had to guess, and now most modern EFI engine from the last ten years destroy most of these old stock carb blocks in every category. Driving a half hour would burn a quarter tank

    Front sump 3.8 pan

It's a 1974. It's been a pain since I bought it. 302 that was in it was blown, replaced it, that one blew. Spent 8k at a shop. That blew. They blamed it on me less than 50 miles after pulling out. Used those nice parts on a 94? mustang 302 core. That blew up. Bit the bullet and bought a junkyard...

    Front sump 3.8 pan

I'm going to turn one of the headlights into an air inlet for the MAF side of the engine and retain as much of the factory as possible. I'm try to post more photos as I go but it's been a slog

    Front sump 3.8 pan

I have a Ron francis standalone harness so it's all just following a manual. Plus I have the engine sitting ready to go so I'm in too deep The hardest things right now are: The oil pan needs Fabricated The mounts need made And the exhaust The rest is just wiring and seeing what happens

    Front sump 3.8 pan

That car has had quite the life. My ranchero has 14 FOMOCO products keeping it held together

    Front sump 3.8 pan

I'm used to a stock and slightly modded 302. How similar is it going to be in terms of feel? I figure yours is similar enough in weight to where I can probably get an educated estimate off that

How has the performance changed from whatever was in it? I assume a 289 or some sort of i6?

I bought a dorman repro windstar steel pan that I'll be modifying. Did you find a factory front sump pickup?

    Front sump 3.8 pan

That is very interesting. My problem is a combo of the steering and the crossmember. There's a 5in area I just need worked around. The engine is sitting in the bed of my truck and I don't know when I'll be able to get to it given this pan situation. Canton quoted me 1100 for a one off pan that...
