    Speedomeer help?

Probably bad speedo I had the same issue. My speedometer went dead while I was driving the car. I stopped and restarted the car and it died for good after a brief flash of life. I considered the VSS, but since the odometer was still working and was accurate per the mile markers on the road...

    Intermittent Crank

Thanks, guys. This thread helped me track down what turned out to be a bad starter solenoid. The intermittent crank issue had come and gone for the last two years. Glad it finally died in my garage rather than out on a drive or overnight trip. MP

7K mile 89 5 spd for sale on Bring a Trailer

That's a nice price and a very nice SC. That car is a unicorn, but sets a nice upper bound for the MN12 T-Bird market. The white one went for $13,750. Considering the 5% buyer fee, it was bought for just over $14,400. MP

7K mile 89 5 spd for sale on Bring a Trailer

I like mine better also, partly because I'm partial to Titanium for these cars. It's going great and I have no plans to sell, but I'll call you if that changes. This white one interests me as an indicator of what a pristine example can bring in an auction. MP

Worse than that, the paperwork picture shows the plastic card with the door code.

7K mile 89 5 spd for sale on Bring a Trailer

It's a nice looking white 5 spd located in Myrtle Beach. I have never seen a Currant Red leather interior previously, it looks pretty nice. Overall the car looks like a nearly pristine example. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1989-ford-thunderbird/ This appears to be the first SC sold on...

SC parts, still have quite the collection

This will be my first time at Carlisle with my SC. It will be good to meet some of the people on here. Any chance you have windshield cowl trim? Mine were cracked when I bought the car a couple years ago, and are getting worse. MP

    32nd Annual Leesburg Car Show

Resked for 14 Sep Looks like it's been rescheduled for Sep 14th and shifted to an afternoon time slot. Right now I am out of town that weekend and won't be able to participate unless my schedule changes. MP

35th Anny found on C'List , Bend OR.

Looks pretty nice. Too bad it's an automatic, and on the wrong coast.

    Sold - IRCM, used, '93

Thanks. In my initial replies I didn't even realize it was the parts for sale forum. I found you in the new posts section, which is where I usually start just to see what people are working on. Then it just turned into a conversation. I'll look at a new radiator cap, but the whole radiator...

    Sold - IRCM, used, '93

I appreciate the patient advice. The fan does come on when I start the AC. I don't think the temp ever went red, but the day the belt came off I pulled to the side of the road and inspected under the hood without shutting down the engine. I then had to pull another 50 feet off the road and...

    Sold - IRCM, used, '93

When I remove the ECT connector, the fan runs and the check engine light comes on. The engine was just warmed up about 3-5 minutes before the KOER test. It was just slowly coming up off the 'blue' when I did the test. Not sure how to test the ECT connector. I put my multi-meter on it and...

    Sold - IRCM, used, '93

I ran the KOEO test. The fan came on and the codes 21, 24, & 67 came back. I ran it twice and 67 only came back the second time. I rant the KOER test and code 21 came up. That's "Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) out of range". I'm assuming that's a problem with the thermostat. Now I'm...

    Sold - IRCM, used, '93

Thanks, especially since I've now learned the SC is an ODB 1 vehicle and I don't have the correct scanner. Of course the port location is not where the one posted picture I found showed it, but I see it back near the passenger side firewall. There are two ports; EEC test & ARC/EVO test. I...

    Sold - IRCM, used, '93

Thanks for the pointer to info on repair & troubleshooting. I obviously didn't look deep enough through the IRCM related threads I found. The symptoms are the fan doesn't come on when the car is idling or at low speed. I have not had a warning light come on, but the gauge has been near red at...

    Sold - IRCM, used, '93

Would this work for any 89-93 SC? I have seen elsewhere that 93/94 is when some sort of change occurred. What do the differences in part number mean? I have an 89 5-spd. Mine has gone bad and has part number E9SZ 12B577 A. Can I swap in this one? Are bad units repairable? I'm wondering...

    Carlisle 2019 Headcount

Thanks. I looked, but I guess I didn't dig deep enough on the Carlisle Events website. I wonder how strict they are on the 'credentials'. My Dad doesn't have a disabled tag, but he's 81 with a heart condition and can't walk for long. He wouldn't make it up the steep parts of the hill. Last...

    32nd Annual Leesburg Car Show

I think I registered for the antique and the Ford class. At least those are the boxes I checked. It will be good to not be the only MN12 there. The couple of times I've gone to 'coffee & cars' around me, people comment about how they had forgotten about these T-Birds. MP

    32nd Annual Leesburg Car Show

The Leesburg Car show has just been announced for Saturday, 11 May. You can find the information here. The show is in downtown Leesburg, VA and is sponsored by the Monroe Advanced Technical Academy (MATA), part of the Academies of Loudoun. This is the vocational school that includes auto body...

    Carlisle 2019 Headcount

Thanks, that helps. I signed up so count me in for the headcount. Lining up for the short drive back and forth from the hotel I'm in seems like more time sitting rather than driving. I suspect though that my wife will be ready to go back to the hotel early, so I'll probably be driving the Bird.
