    Need Help with custom build

Everywhere after the throttle body is going to be under vacuum when you are off the throttle or light cruise. Having said that, while it isn’t ideal, the collapsing couplers are not your problem. Under vacuum, the bypass valve should be opened, which allows air to bypass the supercharger, and...

    Looking for a few parts

I have both brackets, along with alternator, PS pump, AC compressor, all 3 tensioners and all pulleys, and ignition coil, but no DIS module. I also have the lower intercooler tube and return plenum, stock intercooler, and a stock throttle body. I’m not sure how much shipping would be, but make...

    Specialist in Virginia?

Where in VA are you, and what issues are you having? Off the top of my head, I know Tim Groth is down in southwestern VA, and Chris Vining (Blown38) is I think up by DC area.

Caliper Bracket Difference between 89-92 and 93-97?

No, the Cobra rear rotors will not clear 15” wheels. You would need at least 16” wheels to clear them, and they are usually paired with the 13” front rotors, which require 17” wheels.

Caliper Bracket Difference between 89-92 and 93-97?

Technically the 89-92 setup is superior in that respect. The rear rotors on the early ones are thicker and vented, so they are less likely to overheat. But we’re talking about rear brakes, so by the time those are overheating, your front brakes would likely be cooked to the point of being...

Caliper Bracket Difference between 89-92 and 93-97?

Yes, the bracket, the caliper, and the rotor are all different. A couple months ago I actually ran into an issue where apparently the early style calipers are not available anywhere either new or remanufactured, but the later style was, so if your doing brakes, it might be a good idea to swap to...

    Hear me out...

Is there a stock replacement version available for cheap? I would probably start with that so if it doesn’t work you wouldn’t be out much. But the problem is going to be finding a set that doesn’t need to be shipped from Australia, cause that’s probably half the cost.

    BHJ dampener 26' ATDC mark

2 possibilities come to mind. Either the Mustang has the timing pointer in a different location, or the OEM balancer slipped on the hub giving an inaccurate reading.

Max boost on square port blower.

Blower OD is not a magical power adder. It can help if the inlet is opened up enough to accommodate it, or it can be used to shift the power to a lower rpm, but without opening up the inlet, more than 10% OD will not yield any more power, and may actually result in less power due to the...

    1994 supercharger

The spring coupler will have play in it, it isn’t that tight and rocking it back and forth will give about 1/6 of a turn. You can buy a solid coupler on eBay for pretty cheap, and it is definitely a worthwhile upgrade.

Is anyone running Vredestein HiTrac tires?

Treadwear ratings don’t lie. There is no way that a 700 treadwear tire is going to be stickier in dry weather than a 260. If all you care about is grip, the Goodyear is probably your best bet. Having said that, I put the Falken Ziex ZE960s on my 97 tbird sport last year right before a 2000 mile...

    Exhaust Suggestions (N/A V6)

Yes it’s a Magnaflow DIDO. My setup is 2.5”, but 2.25” will be quieter, and more than enough for the 3.8NA, so I would stick with that.

    Exhaust Suggestions (N/A V6)

I know some people have used stock 05-09 Mustang GT mufflers, which flow pretty well, fit well, and are reasonably quiet being a stock muffler. I would also recommend putting the largest mid-mount resonator you can fit, as on the V6 that seems to be far more effective at reducing drone. On my...
