Recently picked this low mile XR-7 as a cranks but won't start as a project to fix and it's more than I want to get into right now. It's near completely original other than the cheesy body kit ( kit is damaged and needs to come off anyway) and a Clarion head unit (factory head unit is in the trunk. Underneath the car looks solid and in very good shape . The car is rust free other than one spot on the front passenger floor right at a body plug that about quarter size but isn't a hole yet. Has the sliding roof and interior is into perfect but is in very good shape. It has new fuel pump, starter water pump , thermostat received_862099639310996.jpegreceived_493381636574131.jpegreceived_473335281979146.jpegreceived_3706606496218926.jpegIMG_20240705_173528901_HDR.jpgreceived_1399735180703926.jpegreceived_1041098214289179.jpegand battery. It's an automatic , brakes work excellent and it will start and run now.
Now the bad- it was ran with a bad water pump that was leaking , and they drove it until it shut off pulling up to an intersection and wouldn't re-start. That was back in 2018-19 by the insurance card in the car. Now I didn't have the history other than it died when stopping at an intersection, the rest I am filling in by what I have found. Head gasket is blown bad on drive side but I don't believe the passenger side is going by the spark plugs. First time I started it was a few hours after we got it home and it had 3/4 tank of bad gas and less than a gallon of coolant (below the level of the head gaskets ) and I hit it with starting fluid, it kicked off and ran rough on the bad gas and with the water pump flopping around making all kinds of horrible noises trying to lock up. Changed fuel and water pump , pulled spark plugs cleaned and re- installed , flushed the engine and radiator and filled with water. Cranked it and heard it slow way down and crank hard and sounding different than when I started it the first time. It started but was rough and labored and had a tick. I drained the water and started it , wasn't labored ,cranked better and was starting to even out but has a tapping that comes and goes . Doesn't have mixed fluids and oil gauge jumps right up to 3/4 the way up . Hoping someone here would be interested , just want to get what I put in it and being low miles I would hate parting it out to do so . $2200 but willing to take a loss if it means she will be saved.

Raytown Missouri, just outside of Kansas City. Like I said price is negotiable because I would rather it be saved than to see her become parts. I have built those motors before but it's not something I can get into right now.

I really figured there would be more interest in this car given that there were less than 9,000 made.
$ 1800 I do not want to part it out
4 days isn't really enough time to say there's no interest. This site doesn't get the traffic that it used to. Honestly, it seems like it could be a project car for my 13 year old if the timing was better. Sadly, timing is not good the me. Good luck with the sale.
