Hi Everyone,

I'm going to post this on Craigslist and will soon be posting with Hemmings, Auto Trader, etc. Thought you might like the first crack at it since I'm a long time Super Coupe Club of America member. Here goes . . .

"This is your first chance to own an enthusisast's Thunderbird Super Coupe that has never been advertised before. My mom and dad bought this car new in 1990, and when my mom moved in with us five years ago I took ownership. I'm a Thunderbird enthusiast, a member of Super Coupe Club of America and Aiken Horsepower.

The car is nearly perfect. It has never been smoked in or used regularly in winters. (I can't say that it's never seen snow, but it has ZERO corrosion even on the unpainted underhood parts.) The car has been garaged all its life and only stayed out overnight when driven out of town on vacations. It has 82,000 miles. We have service records all the way back to day one, the manual, window sticker and key tag. The bumper has never been punctured because front plates are not required in South Carolina. The title is clean. When something broke, we had it repaired. This car was routinely used for shows, not daily driving. We even purchase "real" gas (93 Octane) without ethanol, since this car wasn't designed for it. We replaced the seals and did other major engine work about four years ago.

It has a lot of good options. Included are the dual folding back seat, full leather interior, dual power passenger seats and moonroof. It does not have the troublesome automatic climate control - just a simple A/C control with knobs. The stereo was replaced with a top of the line bluetooth capable Kenwood by X-Treme Audio in Aiken.

The original paint is nearly perfect, though we have had the bumpers repainted due to fading. The wheels are not scuffed, and the dash has no fading or cracks. The headliner is clean and doesn't sag. Current issues are a single drop of oil each month (unsure where it comes from), a slow but functional power seat, and a sticky power window switch that requires some wiggling. The variable power steering is notchy at idle, but OK when moving. There's sometimes a fuel smell. I'm told this is due to the aftermarket locking gas cap, but I haven't tried to replace it. The car starts, drives and handles well. The shocks are original and the variable ride control functions. There is a small dent in one front fender that can be removed by the "paintless dent remover."

The car is located in Aiken, South Carolina near Chukker Creek School.

Price is $4900.

Hi Lee, is it possible to email me some detail pics of the interior also? I use to own a 89 black in the 90's loved that car
Thank You for your time
Rick

Interior photos

Here are some interior photos. Nothing remarkable. The seat bolsters have been redyed a couple times, but the leather is original. The rear seats have always been covered, so nothing there. Carpets are perfect.IMG_0929.jpgIMG_0935.jpgIMG_0937.jpgIMG_0928.jpgP1080732.jpg

Nothing remarkable? This is high quality daily driver interior. I'd take anyone, anywhere in that car. It's clean, no tears or missing stitching. You obviously take care of your stuff.

This car looks amazing. Terrific deal for someone wanting an original unmolested SC that probably drives like a new one. Good luck with the sale!

No one's been out to look at it

Usually, our weekend cars sell to the first person who comes out to look at it. That's what happened with our SHO, Marauder, Supra Turbo and a number of Porsches. No one's been out to see this one, yet . . . Looking forward to the first test drive this weekend.

Sold

As has been the pattern, our SC sold to the first person to test drive it. It'll be staying in South Carolina.
