This will be a free event! Friday a cookout / party at my house ! plenty of parking !! Saturday will be a untimed road rally/cruise with set scenic stops for bathrooms and photo ops and a lunch stop. Scenic fun roads! No gravel mostly state roads and looking at around 200mile with my current rough draft of the route. Before the event I will post up GPX files so nobody will get lost! For those who haven’t been to one of these I am in Paoli Indiana and typically people stay in French lick which is just down the road . Also the rally will be starting in French lick close to the hotel and from our breakfast stop! More details to follow! Event t-shirts and hoodies will be available at a very reasonable cost! Otherwise this is free other than your gas/hotel/food ! I am also planning on a spring event same format for those who can’t do fall or want to foot both! This will be a a lot of fun and I can’t wait to see everyone ! Subscribe to this post for more updates and itinerary

This is the hotel that everyone typically stays at and has worked out well in the past! I recommend reserving early as French lick hotel availability goes quickly since there are a lot of events around the area !

This is a good budget option! I’ve never heard anythjng bad about this place and it’s more economical !

This is from my girlfriend Tara who is in charge of all things food. I copied and pasted from her post in the FB event:

For those that I haven’t met yet, I am the face behind the food for the weekend, aka Tara.

We’ve worked on a menu including the favorites from last year … I will be making a separate post for specific items needed - but if you have anything you like that fits the meal, feel free to bring also.

Friday
Food will be ready to eat around 5pm, but available all night.
Hot pockets - pepperoni and cheese, ham and cheddar
Loaded potato soup
Mexican chili

Saturday
we have a restaurant breakfast planned before we get started.
Lunch will be a stop along the way.
A small cooler and snacks wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Supper when we get back will be a taco bar.

I will have two types of ground burger cooked - one will have veggies (zucchini, mushroom, onion, bell pepper), the other will be plain burger - both will be seasoned with taco seasoning.

Chicken breast will thrown into the crockpot and cooked with bell pepper, mushroom and onion for a fajita option.

Queso will be smoked once we get back - the meat will be precooked and warmed on the smoker too.

I’m making a packaged Spanish rice unless somebody has a family recipe version they’ll volunteer making.

I’ll make a guacamole also.

All the other ‘fixings’ will be added to the *needed* list. That includes salsa, shells, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce …

Sunday - I’m cooking breakfast and that’s. If you hang around for lunch it’ll be leftovers from the other meals.

Breakfast includes
Smoked bacon
Biscuits and gravy
Apple cinnamon casse-roll
Scrambled eggs
Hash browns

Items we need to make the meals go smoothly -exact amounts will be posted as we get a head count .. I’ll also mark when people commit to help keep track.
Help in the kitchen won’t really be needed, but company is welcome and you may get put to work - the kitchen is available if anybody wants to make something here instead of traveling with it.

Paper products - paper towels, paper plates, plastic forks and spoons for 3 meals <preferably somebody arriving early Friday>
(We have the rest thanks to reynolds)

Ice - we have a large cooler that will be in the garage for non alcohol drinks. Somebody needs to keep ice in it over the weekend. - probably 1 big bag a day

Drinks - bring your own!
We’ll have the garage fridge and shop fridge available for alcoholic beverages - plus a large cooler for soda/water.
*Personal coolers are recommended for the ride*

Snacks - either to share or not, everybody likes snacks tho.

Desserts - I’m leavings the sweets up to you guys. Idc if it’s homemade or store bought.

For Friday and saturdays meal we will need: <preferably somebody arriving early Friday>
Sour cream
Shredded cheese - cheddar / Mexican
Fritos (scoops are best) and tortilla chips
Jalapeños

Saturday we will also need:
Soft tortillas and hard shells
Salsa
Lettuce
Tomato

Sunday we need:
Canned cinnamon rolls
Eggs
Sausage

Depending on my daughters softball schedule I am really going to try to make it Jacob. I havnt been able to make anything for too long. As of this evening the car is running great. We havnt set the schedule for fall so I am going to try to keep him from signing us up for a tournament that weekend.

I will still trailer it there just in case in light of recent events. Randy would just hop in min and drive it there, I however am not that brave.

I wouldn’t blame you for that considering I don’t think anyone else going that direction is trailering so at least you have a contingency plan. But if you did have a breakdown you can use my truck and trailer take you’re sc home load you’re Lexus up bring truck back drive Lexus home so it isn’t like you would be stranded
