I have a 74 ranchero and will be attempting to drop in a 3.8sc out of a 92 tbird and a stand-alone harness. I may need help on a few things but here goes nothing!

The engine is in good shape and came with almost everything except the belts. Might delete the a.c. in favor of a pulley

I'm sticking with the fmx for cost reasons and will be upgrading the TC unless someone has an aod/t5 drop out they'd part with for cheap

I'm excited to see whether i can do this or not

Does anyone know of a front sump 3.8 pan? I can't find one anywhere

Does a Fairlane to foxbody bracket exist? I can make both but pre-made is always nice

Almost everything else is pretty straightforward and I'm hoping by spring itll rip

This is what I came up with first.
I modified a stock 3.8 steel pan after but if you do the front cover bolt holes are different. Just a heads up. Lots a work but I love it on my old Comet

I don't think they ever made a front sump for a 3.8 & you have to stay with the Aluminum pan for the S/C, as Fred noted. Steel pan's don't line up with the S/C front cover. I'm also pretty sure a FMX will not bolt up to 3.8 -if it had a 351M or 400 definitely not. Not sure about 302

Sorry, I didn't read other messages that you had the 3.8 listed for sale & were going with a 302

Pretty sure the 3.8 is sbf 6 bolt. But old guy here so memory,,,?
