A/C delete

I'm finally replacing my OG radiator today, water pump, gaskets, hoses etc. My SC has been leaking for quite some time. I'm thinking of deleting my AC system and condenser, being in Oregon it doesn't get too hot often, but still sometimes it's nice to have. Just curious if anyone has experiences from deleting it and if so, which belt will fit after deleting the A/C compressor? After installing the overdrive kit from SCP would it still fit? I might just replace the condenser and compressor since both went out.
Thanks,
Ryan H.

I deleted it on my 90XR7. I don’t remember the length of the belt, but I know I just tried a few until I found one that worked. One thing to keep in mind if deleting the compressor is you will have to modify the tensioner to tension the opposite way. All this really entails is grinding off a nub that it would normally bottom out on, so now when it goes past that point, the spring starts winding the other way. Some people also replace the pulley on the tensioner with one that is grooved since it will now ride on the grooved part of the belt, but I left the stock smooth pulley there, and it has been fine for years. Also one side benefit of this is the lower rad hose no longer has to go through the belt, so no more need to drain coolant to change the belt!

I deleted the AC from my car and the lower hose still does go through the belt. No way to change that scenario.

I'm also thinking about doing my head gaskets, being proactive with them. I'm sitting just over 170,000 miles on my SC, they've never been done according to the original paperwork, and since I've had a few issues with the coolant leaks, bubbling and such. I've ran her a few times (idling) to temp, gauge sits right in the middle, runs great, but the radiator is leaking good. More leaks in a few spots. The oil cooler looks suspect too. I'm changing the water pump, radiator, all the intake manifold gaskets including the thermostat housing one. Also an overdrive pulley set :)
I don't have any oil in the coolant or vice versa, no more bubbling in the over flow tank. But I don't want to do all this work only to have the head gaskets give out before 200k.

Bubbling in the coolant overflow is not a good sign. I'd be checking for antifreeze in the oil and vice versa.

See this post for how I did AC delete on my 91 SC.

Thanks David Neibert

I wonder if it'll all work on the overdrive pulley set I'm ordering from SCP. I'm thinking of just leaving the AC compressor bolted on with the rest of the AC deleted and using the new belts that come with the set up. I've decided to do the head gaskets while I have everything apart with the MLS set and arp bolts. I would hate to replace all the gaskets (including intake manifold ones) only to have the heads give out soon

If you are only replacing the supercharger pulleys and belts then yes, the items I posted will work. It will also work with an underdrive pulley set or stock diameter accessory pulleys, belt length is the same.

Thanks Neibert. I may save up money and buy the S/C set up from SCP as well.

Finally pulled off the intake manifold
Heads next

Pulled the heads off my SC finally. I already bought some HG's off rockauto for I believe the f150 per a forum chat, and look I'm not too experienced with all this, so my questions might be ridiculous, nevertheless just out of curiosity:
I attached pics of the heads and gaskets that came off my 89 SC for reference. Check marks are next to the passages I'm curious about (passages on both far ends of the heads). So only the MLS set off rockauto shows all 4 of these ports on the gasket itself, but not all 4 are open.
3rd pic is the fel pro 9642pt-1. than the fel pro 9250pt MLS. The stock gaskets show 4 passages with only 2 open.
Was just checking if these passages are all used and if so or not, are they a concern when choosing these gaskets?
Any help is much appreciated.
