Holy moly it has been that long. I remember talking with the Bills on all the upgrades one could get at that time. And applied that to my 1991 SC modified with all the goodies including maxed CMRE. I sold it to my dad who only showed it on occasion. Unfortunately he recently passed and it’s come back in my possession. Which begs the question of what to do. Honestly I don’t know where to start and I’m not sure if this is the right forum, but I did want to check in with this community first before making any decisions. I’ll look back in the records and memory banks on what’s under the hood. Appreciate a pointer if I should post a thread elsewhere. Ciao Rick

Well here’s a list on my black 1991 SC from memory. Under the hood is stage 2 CMRE engine (was there stage 3 or more?). I don’t remember all what that entailed, but it was the top of everything offered. Jet hot coating on everything. Long tube chrome headers (awesome). Low flow exhaust all the way out. On the induction side, bigger MAF with K&N and bigger throttle body. New supercharger design with ported back. Bigger CMRE modified SC inlet. Bigger raised SC outlet. Extrude honed SC pipes. Double intercooler with continuous fan. OD pulleys. Spearco aluminum radiator. 42lb injectors, bigger fuel pump. Engine dyno’d 440 HP and 525 ft-lb torque. Seriously quick. Too quick for me these days.

AOD transmission. 17” SVT wheels, have originals too somewhere. 12” cross drilled brakes. Solid engine mounts. Big front anti sway bar. 36k miles on new 150 mph Speedo when the new engine was dropped in. 89k on the original if I recall. Bunch of other stuff I probably forgot. It’s been stored in Phoenix AZ for some time. Always in a covered carport, but quite dusty. Tires are shot. Needs new water pump I’m told. Super clean interior. Super clean exterior, no dings or anything as I recall. Headlights need a refresh to make them shiny again.

There is an interested local party that me dad knew and who knows the car. But I wanted to make this club aware for any interest before I move forward since these are special cars - especially when taken all the way with CMRE engine and all the other goodies. Let me know if there’s any interest. I don’t have a good sense of asking price since I haven’t yet found good information on that yet (input more than welcome). I’m in CA, so it’s kinda awkward for logistics, but have local family in AZ who can help out.

What is CMRE
Coy Miller Racing Engines in Harrisonburg VA? If he is just going by memory, I'm guessing there are no reciepts for any of it?
If it wasn't properly prepped prior to its extended period of storage, the engine may need to be disassembled & refurbished again. Both things may lower asking price.

Ok Coy Miller was a thing of the past by the time I started building mine. Most of the more modern super coupes got away from the stick intercooler and piping due to how inexpensive it is to go to a full front mount intercooler. As far as tearing the engine down on a 30 year old car to see if it still ok thats a little more than id be willing to do lol

Is that to say most folks are just running an intercooler/induction overall and getting great HP numbers? Curious what those are and an all out assault with race engine and big intercooler/induction

I think the guy interested is wanting 13.5k. Seems on the low side with a clean car and all the upgrades. Again appreciate any input the folks here can offer since my sister and I are clearing out my dad’s estate

I saw a post from Ralph Sparveri back in 2005 having his engine built to a stage 2 level by Coy Miller then after multiple failures the complete car sent to Coy's shop starting in 2003 & all the issues he had with it over the next 2 years & the multiple trips back to Coy's. Same car or possilbly the engine out of it?

I bought the car in 1997 then put the engine and other upgrades around 2000. My dad bought it off me in 2004 or so since he was the real car guy of the family (1972 Gran Torino with monster engine was always his baby). But neither of us had a problem with it. Must be someone else’s, but I hadn’t heard of other CMRE issues either

If you can get $13.5K take it and run. Most cars with mods like you mentioned are going to sell for $6K to $8K. If it's super clean you might get a little more. Generally speaking, heavily modded SCs don't sell as well as a clean bone stock car.
