Please tell me what I'm missing here. Stock 94 mustang 3.8 dampener with key stock locking the 2 together and the OEM dampener notch is no way near the BHJ. Car had alot of tuning issues and injector timing was one thing that i had to put weird #s in to get better idle.

2 possibilities come to mind. Either the Mustang has the timing pointer in a different location, or the OEM balancer slipped on the hub giving an inaccurate reading.

Mustang and SC use the same timing chain cover. Both dampers have 30k miles on them and neither are spun. Both timing marks are right on.

I’m really shocked that BHJ did not mark this location. It’s possible I have an early style but after days of looking I have not found a single dampener that has a mark at 26’ ATDC. Even BHJ site the picture does not show it. The long mark is 0’ and that’s all it has. I’m sure there are a lot of 3.8s out there with fuel injection timing way off.

I kinda think mine is on of them. Got it as close to what I thought 26 degrees would be when I installed my bhj but I do feel like it's not exact

Unfortunately I don't know where I had this set before but in the back of my mind I always wandered if it was correct, Michael ( Decipha ) always said it was wrong. I now at least feel a lot more confident in it being in the correct position.
