Considering buying a 90 Tbird SC

Congrat's on your purchase, but the dash does not have a "top pad" its the whole dash. Involves removing center console & steering column as well. I think flat rate used to be 18 hours, but that was with plastic & fasteners that were 3-5 years old-not 34. If you are in that far, do the heater core & A/C evaporator.
I appreciate the information on the dash. Might have to try a different approach. I think there may be a couple of options. I have a friend that does auto upholstery. Might be able to cut out the bad section and replace it. If not then I may just buy a dash pad cover. I'll post the repair results. Thanks again.

Working on making some repairs to the SC that I bought several weeks ago. One project is to replace the odometer gears because the odometer is not working. I bought the replacement kit from "SuperCoupePerformance" but now I need to video or other instructions on how to remove the instrument cluster, replace the gears and reinstall the instrument cluster. If anyone has any information I would be grateful. Thanks so much.

Have your mechanic friend pull the cluster. Don't forget the boost gauge hose. Also the instrument trim has plastic guides, that can break when fighting over the steering cover. Steering column should be dropped an inch, or so, especially the first time around.

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely get some help before taking the cluster out of the dash. I've heard it's not a terrible project but I'm not super confident I can do it on my own. That's why I was hoping to find a YouTube video. Thanks again.

This is great information. Thank you so much for sharing. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm not the most mechanical person in the world so this could be an interesting project. Haha! Thanks again.

Mike
