I'm trying to find time to work on my 91 SC. After building the engine years ago with all of the bigger goodies, I have been having a lot of problems finding time to work on it. I finally had some time and started having Dave Dalke remote tuning it. He got it to idle for the 1st time. When it came time to datalog on the road, I had no brakes. The ABS pump was froze up after SO MANY years of sitting. With the little spare time I had I converted it over to non-ABS. I don't have the feel in the pedal I would like, but I do have good brakes.
A few years before starting the tuning, I modified my gauge cluster. I swapped out the oil pressure, water temp and boost gauges for Autometer Cobalts. I then spent many, many, many hours modifying the cluster using SMD and strip LEDs to make the speedo, tach and fuel gauge to look the same. They look really good. I've had issues with SMDs falling off the boards I made or going bad already and solder joints breaking. Now I can't get my fuel gauge to work. I want to just make a custom cluster. I have looked here and TCCOA for people who have done so. I found a thread on TCCOA where there were some people working on a mounting plate. The last post was in 2006 and the pictures are dead. I also seen Super XR7's with 8 gauges in a '94 dash. There must be more room in those. Does anyone have information or pictures of some that have been done? If I had a 3-D printer I could make a redesigned replacement for the black cover that would attach as the old one and keep the clear lense.
