DIS location alteration?

I think my DIS module is shutting down.
On a hot day headed hm from a car show the car quit out of the blue.
Sat with the hood up for a while and after trying several times it started up and drove the rest of the way hm no problem.
I had the same thing happen maybe 8-9 years ago and members here said probably the DIS which I changed and it cured the problem.
So my question, some of you may know the engine isnt in the stock vehicle and the install is pretty tight. I was wondering if anyone has relocated the unit to a cooler local and or used a different heat dissapater?
Any and all opinions and ideas appreciated.
Thanks.

How could you tell that it was the DIS? I'm on a crusade trying to get my 89 SC to run smooth, and the DIS is one of the things I have yet to try. As for heat dissipation; I wonder if taking longer screws, then custom-printing and shimming a steel grate under it like we do with PC coolers would help.

It might I have a finned piece of aluminum ive thought of trying that with but I don't want to kill a DIS trying it. On the other hand I don't really see how it could.

Are there any special shielded wires servicing the DIS? If they're all simple plastic covered copper maybe a harness to take it right out of the engine bay.
