Ecm problem ?

I plugged a code reader into my car to scan it and it turned the fan on and off and did nothing else.
Now the car is very hard to get started when cold.
It seems to run fine and starts easily when its warm, but the 1st initial start of the day is very hard.i pretty much need to step on gas to get it to stay running...
Did I mess up my ecm?

Was the light on or were you having any issue's before you plugged scanner in?
Or what made you want to check codes? Is the light on now? Maybe it's not getting
coolant temp signal now-its not richening fuel trims when cold? IAC stuck closed?

The engine light bulb is removed.i had the light on constantly because of the fan code, tranny code and tps code.i have electronic fan controllers and a lentech built tranny so those codes don't go away...the tps code is what I was checking for.but the code reader doesn't seem to be working anymore.my codes were 15 83 96 last time I checked...but I don't believe I can get rid of the fan or tranny codes is why I pulled the bulb.it ran fine before I tried scanning it..

Sorry code were 88 15 63
I think you'll find you current issue is related to the 63 code. T.P.S. reference voltage is low.
15 is KAM power failure (Keep Alive Memory). ECM 12 volt supply was lost at some point, since last time it was scanned. (could of been years ago) As long as battery is hooked up there should always be power to pin 1 of ECM. Doesn't matter if key on or not, (Ign. feed is a a different pin).
88 is signal for fan(s), which you said did cycle during test? Both speeds? It can be hard to tell. Ecm must have control though if something came on.

Yes the tps code has been there since I've owned the car.it may be the harness... just find it weird that it started fine till I plugged the reader in... now I'm scared to scan it lol. I'll try a different tps and iac and see what happens...
Thanks

That cooling temp signal comes from the sensor in the intake right behind the dis module, correct?

I got the code reader working and my only codes are 15 and 83 koeo test.changed tps before testing. Still won't start when engine is cold.i unplugged the temp sensor and tried with no change...im not sure what that means..i ordered a temp sensor that should be here on Thursday or Friday. Is there anything else I can be checking in the mean time?

Ok i figured out my problem, and man I feel like a fool...
My throttle body door was to closed. I'm not sure how the screw managed to un do itself but I screwed it in to open it more and starts and idles fine now...
